The Left are turning on each other. And it’s only a matter of time until they all go down together.
Now a CNN guest went scorched earth after being asked one incriminating question.
Biden’s Decline: Democratic Failure, Not Media Misstep
Former NBC host Chuck Todd took to his Substack on Monday to vigorously defend the media’s handling of former President Joe Biden’s mental decline, arguing that the real culprit was the Democratic Party’s refusal to confront the issue.
In a lively exchange with ex-CNN commentator Chris Cillizza, Todd dismissed claims of a media cover-up, spotlighting what he sees as a orchestrated failure by Democratic leaders to address Biden’s cognitive challenges.
Democratic Party’s Denial Under Fire
Todd, once the face of Meet the Press, rejected the notion that the media missed Biden’s declining mental acuity, calling out “virtue signaling” that unfairly targets journalists.
“I just refuse to accept this stupid premise because it’s a right-wing manufactured, right-wing premise, in order to stain the media,” he said.
While conceding that some “MSNBC and CNN” pundits “absolutely carried water for Joe Biden,” he clarified they were “former strategists,” not true journalists.
Todd’s comments followed Axios reporter Alex Thompson’s sharp critique at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, where he accused the media of sidestepping Biden’s cognitive issues.
Todd pointed to examples of genuine journalism, including his own efforts, to counter the narrative of media failure. He cited a 2023 column by David Ignatius, who questioned Biden’s re-election bid, stating, “Is he really running again? This doesn’t seem like a good idea.”
Todd added, “People like me were promoting Dean Phillips’ campaign because he was running a campaign that made a lot of sense.”
For conservatives, this points to a Democratic refusal to acknowledge a problem that became undeniable during Biden’s faltering 2024 debate performance against Donald Trump.
Right-Wing Critique Gains Traction
Todd insisted the situation was no repeat of past media missteps, like the Iraq War narrative, declaring, “This was not that failure.” He laid the blame at the feet of Democratic heavyweights—Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Jill Biden, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Congress—asserting, “the Democratic Party let that disaster happen.”
He passionately argued, “There were water carriers, but they’re not real journalists!” and singled out figures like Jen Psaki, saying, “I refuse to accept the premise that what Jen Psaki was saying, no offense to her, but she’s not a journalist, she’s a former spokesperson for Joe Biden.”
While Todd acknowledged media hesitancy to directly address Biden’s mental acuity during the 2024 race—fearing it would bolster Trump—he maintained journalists provided subtle cues.
“Look, we were subtle. ‘He’s using the back staircase, he’s not using the front staircase. Hey, he’s not doing any interviews,'” he said. For Republican observers, this admission highlights a media reluctance that allowed Democrats to evade accountability until public scrutiny, fueled by right-wing critiques, forced the issue into the open.
On Piers Morgan Uncensored, Todd admitted this caution, noting, “So there was this reluctance to draw the conclusion to say, ‘Is he not doing this?’ And that I agree with.”
