The mainstream media isn’t used to the truth. When confronted with it, they short circuit.
And now a CNN panel descended into chaos after a Republican dropped this truth bomb.
Jennings Calls Out Democratic Hypocrisy on Refugee Policy
CNN Republican commentator Scott Jennings sharply criticized Democrats on Monday for their sudden opposition to granting refugee status to South Africans, despite their long-standing support for the open-border policies of former President Joe Biden. During a heated CNN panel discussion, Jennings highlighted what he sees as glaring inconsistencies in their stance.
Jennings pointed out that Democrats who backed policies allowing millions of unvetted immigrants, including some criminals, into the U.S. are now objecting to a small group of white South Africans fleeing racially motivated threats and violence. “The same people who had no problem with letting in 20 million illegal immigrants, gang members included, are suddenly outraged about a small group of white South African refugees. Spare me,” Jennings captioned his video.
“It’s not alleged discrimination these people face in South Africa. The law there explicitly allows their property to be confiscated,” Jennings stated. “They are subject to racial discrimination, some have been subject to violence, from some reports that I have read.”
He emphasized the scale, noting, “We’re talking about 50-something people, and the people who seem to be angriest about this today had no problem with 20 million coming here, some of the worst people in the world, including gang members and so on and so forth, so I don’t have a lot of sympathy for outrage today after what happened to this country over the last several years over 50-something people who are clearly being discriminated against in South Africa.”
Clash with Moulton Over Immigration Priorities
The discussion grew contentious when Jennings sparred with Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA), who tried to distance his views on immigration from his support for Biden and former Vice President Kamala Harris. Jennings argued that the Biden administration’s policies effectively prioritized unvetted criminal immigrants.
“The previous administration had priorities about who to let in, including all kinds of folks who I would argue shouldn’t be here,” Jennings said. “This administration, I guess, is going to set priorities about who and who not to let in —”
Moulton interjected, implying that President Donald Trump’s refugee policies were driven by the skin color of the South Africans. “Let’s just be honest about what those priorities are,” Moulton said. “I’m a Democrat here, I did not defend the Biden administration on immigration —”
“But you voted for him,” Jennings countered.
“That doesn’t mean that I defend him on immigration —” Moulton responded.
“And you voted for a continuation of it in 2024, did you not?” Jennings pressed.
“I — I did not vote for his policies on immigration,” Moulton insisted, attempting to separate his support for Biden from the administration’s policies.
“But you voted — you voted to extend the immigration policies of the last administration,” Jennings reiterated, as other panelists tried to intervene.
“No, I did not vote for that,” Moulton repeated.
Partisan Divide on Border Policy
Jennings wrapped up the exchange by pointing to the overall partisan divide. “The point is, you’re in a party that opened the borders, and I’m in a party that closed the borders, and I think the American people prefer our way,” he concluded.
