Leftists are shaking in their boots from the red wave knocking at their doors. They know their days in office are numbered.
And Democrats just waved the white flag of surrender in the last state you’d expect.
There’s nothing the Left hates more than a conservative who’s willing to stand up for conservative principles.
They’ll play nice with the RINOs because they know, at the end of the day, they are just “diet Democrats.”
And that’s why they absolutely despise Republican Florida governor Ron DeSantis.
His no-nonsense approach to politics and policy has made him a sweetheart in the conservative movement, with many calling for him to run for president in 2024.
This is the last thing Democrats want. If Joe Biden decides to run again and is matched up against DeSantis, it will be a bloodbath.
That’s what makes the Democrat Party’s latest call for surrender in Florida all the more baffling.
According the a report from POLITICO, Democrats are treating Florida as a Republican stronghold now thanks to DeSantis’ leadership.
Here are just a few of the major red flags for Democrats in Florida the POLITICO report pointed out:
- The Democratic Governors Association spent just $685,000 this election cycle. It gave $14 million to Florida in the past two governor races.
- Big outside donor money has almost completely dried up. New York billionaire Michael Bloomberg contributed only $1.5 million to Democrats this cycle. He vowed $100 million to Florida in 2020.
- Polling shows Republicans making headway in Miami-Dade County, which has long been a blue stronghold.
- Democrats have collectively raised $29 million in the four non-federal statewide races. Republicans raised nearly $200 million.
Just four years ago, DeSantis won the state by less than half of a percentage point.
Donald Trump also had slim margins in 2016 and 2020 of 1.2 points and 3.3 points, respectively.
But now polls have DeSantis mopping the floor with Democrat Charlie Crist, leading by an amazing 14 points.
Evan Ross, a longtime Democratic consultant in South Florida, said it would take DeSantis telling people to vote for Crist to change the race.
“The only thing that might give Charlie Crist a chance of becoming governor would be DeSantis aggressively campaigning for him over the next two weeks,” Ross said. “Translation: It’s over. And it’s going to be ugly.”
