The Left is radical. We all know that.
But now Democrats went completely off the rails by supporting this terrorist sympathizer.
Florida Democrats just handed their Senate nomination to a DSA-backed radical who paid thousands of dollars to a staffer who openly glorified Hamas and called for Zionists to d-e.
Sara Mahmoud, hired as social media manager for state Rep. Angie Nixon’s campaign, left a digital trail that Canary Mission documented in detail. One post from an account later deleted asked, “Can Zionists d-e already?” Another, written the same day Hamas launched hundreds of rockets into Israel, declared, “Glory and honor to our freedom fighters. Praying for their safety and success.”
She celebrated Hamas’s anniversary with the line, “Palestine is the land of the Arab Palestinian people, from it they originate, to it they adhere and belong, and about it they reach out and communicate. #Hamas31 #WhatsHamas.” White Jews drew special venom: “Wow, white Jews are so entitled lmfaoooo please d-e.” And this: “Zionism is a form of white nationalism, period.”
FEC records show Mahmoud collected at least $8,400 from the Nixon campaign between June and July. The campaign now claims she is no longer on the payroll and found other work. They refuse to say whether they knew about the posts when they hired her.
Nixon herself has pushed to cut U.S. aid to Israel and reevaluate the alliance, framing it as concern for “innocent lives.” The DSA platform she rides goes further, endorsing the “right of return” and “the right to resist military occupation.” Mahmoud’s own words from 2018 leave no doubt where that road leads: “Any means used by Palestinians to liberate ourselves from white supremacist Israeli colonizers is just. We will return. Wait on it.”
This is the face of the modern Democratic Party in Florida. Voters should take note before November.
Mahmoud’s record goes back years. In 2015 she accused Israel of carrying out “a mass g*nocide and ethnic cleansing.” In 2016 she mocked someone for embracing an Israeli identity by calling it imperialism and racism. By 2017 she was writing that Israeli forces use Palestinians as “target practice” and practice “apartheid.” These were not isolated rants. They formed a consistent worldview that the Nixon campaign was willing to put on the payroll.
The Democratic Socialists of America have made no secret of their goals. Their official platform calls for abolishing the U.S. Senate and advancing government-subsidized housing while declaring full support for Palestinian autonomy with Jerusalem as its capital. Nixon’s primary victory over a more establishment Democrat shows how far the left wing of the party has moved. Paying a staffer who cheered Hamas rockets is simply the logical next step.
Florida is not a progressive stronghold. It is a state that has rejected open borders, radical gender ideology, and anti-Israel activism at the ballot box. Handing the Senate nomination to a candidate comfortable with this kind of staffer sends a clear message about what the national Democratic Party now accepts. Regular voters who still believe in American strength and the U.S.-Israel alliance have every reason to reject it.
Campaign spokespeople tried to distance themselves after the posts surfaced. They offered no apology for the decision to hire Mahmoud in the first place and gave no timeline for when they learned of her history. That silence speaks louder than any damage-control statement. When a candidate takes DSA money and DSA ideology, the staff she chooses is not an accident. It is a feature.
Americans watching this race should remember that Senate seats are not participation trophies. They come with real power over foreign aid, defense policy, and the confirmation of judges. Putting someone who employs Hamas apologists into that chamber is a risk the country cannot afford. The choice in November could not be clearer.
