And a disgraced former CNN host is facing a threat of criminal charges from Trump’s DOJ.
A high-ranking Justice Department official has put former CNN anchor Don Lemon squarely in the crosshairs for potential federal charges stemming from a chaotic anti-ICE protest that invaded a church service this past Sunday.
Harmeet Dhillon, the Assistant Attorney for Civil Rights, declared that the incident involved a slew of criminal acts, with participants potentially looking at serious time behind bars. She’s eyeing Lemon’s role, suggesting he could be hit hard for his part in the mayhem.
Dhillon laid out the possibilities without tipping her full hand, highlighting laws like the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act and the Ku Klux Klan Act as key tools in the arsenal against these disruptors.
“I see various crimes that have occurred,” she said when speaking with Benny Johnson, a podcaster, on Monday.
“Exactly what they are I’m not going to flag, but the FACE Act has been mentioned as one of the predicates there. In other cases, the Biden DOJ used the Klan Act conspiracy charges tacked onto the FACE Act in the case of protests outside abortion clinics to bring much longer sentences.”
What makes this especially juicy is Lemon’s attempt to play the journalist card while being neck-deep in the action. Dhillon called him out for embedding with the protesters, claiming he knew the plan all along but tried to hide behind his media credentials.
“Don Lemon himself has come out and said he knew exactly what was going to happen inside that facility. He went into the facility, and then he began ‘committing journalism,’ as if that’s sort of a shield from being a part, an embedded part of a criminal conspiracy, it isn’t,” she stated.
It’s no secret that the Biden administration weaponized these very same statutes against peaceful pro-life activists who dared to pray outside abortion mills. Now, the tables are turning, and it’s about time justice swings both ways.
The FACE Act, designed to protect access to abortion providers, also shields folks trying to worship without interference. Blocking religious freedom at a church? That’s a direct hit under this law.
Meanwhile, the KKK Act cracks down on conspiracies that trample civil rights, carrying penalties that could mean over ten years in the slammer plus massive fines. Leftists who cheered when it was used against conservatives might not be laughing now.
“The FACE Act is just the start. Like I said, you have material support for disruptive activities, you have conspiracy to violate civil rights, you have potentially the use of other instrumentalities to commit crimes,” Dhillon stated.
Dhillon made it clear the DOJ is methodically building its case, collecting evidence to ensure everything sticks.
This all stems from a targeted assault on a church where one pastor reportedly holds a job at a local ICE office. Protesters stormed the church, , shouting down worshipers and turning a sacred space into a battleground.
The hypocrisy is glaring: when pro-lifers sing hymns outside clinics, they’re branded criminals and hauled off. But when anti-ICE radicals invade a house of God, suddenly the left cries foul over accountability.
Dhillon’s warning rings loud and clear for anyone thinking of pulling similar stunts. The era of getting away with mob tactics against everyday Americans is over, and the feds are ready to drop the hammer.
“Come next Sunday, nobody should think in the United States that they’re going to be able to get away with this. Everyone in the protest community needs to know that the fullest force of the federal government is going to come down and prevent this from happening and put people away for a long, long time,” Dhillon said.
At the end of the day, this pushback defends some of the core values that make America great: faith, family, and the rule of law.
If Lemon and his crew thought they could disrupt without consequences, they’ve got a rude awakening coming.
