Trump isn’t taking any guff. He’s going on the offensive.
And now Donald Trump put Democrats on the backfoot with an unexpected takedown.
President Trump staunchly defended the bold federal law enforcement actions in Minneapolis, highlighting dramatic crime reductions achieved by removing thousands of dangerous criminals—many linked to the previous open-border policies—proving once again that tough, decisive measures restore safety and order.
Swift Federal Action Delivers Results
In a recent interview, President Trump praised the impact of targeted enforcement operations, stating: “The crime numbers in Minnesota, in Minneapolis in particular, are down 25, 30% because we’ve removed thousands of criminals from the area. These are hardened criminals… Most of them came in through an open border, and we’ve done a great job.”
These efforts, part of broader initiatives like Operation Metro Surge, focused on apprehending violent offenders and gang members, leading to thousands of arrests and a clear drop in criminal activity.
Nationwide Success Stories Inspire Confidence
Trump pointed to even more striking turnarounds in other cities as evidence that his administration’s no-nonsense approach is working wonders. He noted: “Look at Washington, D.C., It’s like a safe city. You can walk to the White House. You don’t have to take an armored vehicle.”
He continued with examples of rapid progress elsewhere, saying: “Look at what happened in Louisiana… I got a call from the governor, ‘Please do something with New Orleans.’ We went there four weeks ago, crime is down 71%.”
And: “[In] Memphis, Tennessee, crime is down 80% after five weeks.”
Emphasizing the bigger picture, Trump declared: “Crime, historically in this country, it’s down [to] the lowest level it’s ever been… We’ve had less m*rders than we have had in decades. And you know why? Because we’re tough on crime.”
Restoring Law and Order Through Strength
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt reinforced the administration’s achievements, noting that m*rders in major U.S. cities have plunged to their lowest level since at least 1900, thanks to surging federal arrests, gang takedowns, and deportations fulfilling Trump’s pledge to “restore law and order.”
While a partial drawdown of agents—including about 700 from the Twin Cities—has been announced following cooperation from local officials and after incidents like fatal shootings, the core message remains clear: President Trump’s commitment to protecting American communities is yielding real, measurable safety gains.
Border Czar Tom Homan has affirmed the administration is “not backing down,” ensuring continued focus on removing threats while adapting tactics for maximum effectiveness.
