Trump was sent a video that will make you sick to your stomach

We’re inching closer to Donald Trump being inaugurated again. That has everyone on edge.

Because Donald Trump was just sent a video that will make you sick to your stomach.

Hamas Directly Addresses Donald Trump In New Hostage Video

In a dramatic new video released on Saturday, Edan Alexander, a U.S. citizen held hostage by Hamas in Gaza, publicly appealed to President-elect Donald Trump for help in securing his release. This is the first time since his abduction during the October 7, 2023 Hamas attacks on Israel that Alexander has appeared on video. The footage, which shows Alexander speaking directly to the camera, reveals a man who has been held captive for over 420 days. He calls on Trump to exert β€œthe full power of the U.S.” to negotiate his freedom, expressing his deep fear that he might meet the same tragic fate as Hersh Goldberg-Polin, an American hostage m*rdered by his captors.

Alexander’s plea comes at a crucial moment in the ongoing hostage crisis, where 101 individuals are still being held by Hamas, including seven Americans. The video provides a heart-wrenching reminder of the human cost of the war in Gaza, as it highlights the ongoing suffering of innocent civilians who are being used as bargaining chips in a broader geopolitical struggle. Although the release of the video is distressing, Israeli officials have expressed cautious optimism, seeing it as a possible sign that Hamas is beginning to soften its stance.

An Israeli official noted that the video might indicate Hamas’s readiness to make compromises in negotiations, suggesting that the group may be more willing to work toward a deal that could bring hostages home. In the video, Alexander clearly states that he does not want to die like Goldberg-Polin, who was k*lled by Hamas. This desperate message could put additional international pressure on the group, especially as the number of days hostages have been held continues to grow, and the international community increasingly demands their release.

National Security Council spokesperson Sean Savett described the video as β€œa cruel reminder of Hamas’s terror against citizens of multiple countries, including our own,” underscoring the broader implications of the hostage situation. Savett emphasized that there is a β€œcritical opportunity” to conclude a deal that would not only free the hostages but also bring an end to the ongoing conflict in Gaza and allow for humanitarian assistance to reach those in need.

The statement suggests that the time for action is now, but it also highlights the stalled negotiations that have lasted for more than three months. Despite the urgency, there has been little tangible progress on the ground.

Negotiations surrounding the release of hostages and the establishment of a ceasefire in Gaza have been bogged down for months, with little movement on either front. In recent weeks, President Biden and President-elect Trump held discussions on this very issue.

Trump & Biden Clash Over Best Israel-Gaza Conflict Approach

During a two-hour meeting in the Oval Office, the two leaders exchanged views on the hostage crisis and the broader situation in Gaza. Both Biden and Trump have indicated support for a ceasefire, but meaningful steps have been elusive.

Complicating matters further, talks between Biden’s national security team and Trump’s incoming advisers have revealed that the two sides do not always see eye to eye. Recently, White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan met with Trump’s designated national security adviser, Rep. Mike Waltz (R-Fla.), to discuss potential next steps.

Similarly, Brett McGurk, Biden’s senior Middle East adviser, spoke with Trump’s Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, to discuss the situation. However, the lack of progress is telling. The absence of a clear breakthrough in negotiations has led some to believe that the Biden administration’s handling of the situation has not been as decisive or effective as it could have been.

In contrast, President-elect Trump, known for his direct and forceful leadership style, is increasingly seen as the figure capable of cutting through the impasse. According to Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Trump is more determined than ever to secure the release of the hostages and push for a ceasefire agreement before he takes office on January 20.

β€œTrump is more determined than ever to release the hostages and supports a ceasefire that includes a hostage deal,” Graham said in an interview with Axios. β€œHe wants to see it happening now.” This sense of urgency is particularly relevant given the timeline of Trump’s upcoming inauguration, which is less than two months away. For many, this timeline is crucial, as they believe Trump’s leadership could bring the necessary pressure to compel Hamas to agree to terms favorable to the United States and Israel.

The growing sense of frustration with Biden’s handling of the hostage situation is clear, with many observers suggesting that Trump’s approach could break the stalemate. His ability to apply direct and decisive pressure on Hamas, coupled with his track record of negotiating high-stakes deals, gives many the belief that he could achieve a breakthrough where the current administration has failed.

Trump’s posture on foreign policy is well-known for being more aggressive than Biden’s, particularly in his willingness to hold adversaries to account and push for outcomes that favor American interests. In this case, that might mean taking a much firmer stance with Hamas, which could involve leveraging U.S. power to extract concessions and secure the release of hostages.

Reports from Israeli officials have indicated that Hamas is showing signs of flexibility in the ongoing negotiations. While the group has been adamant in the past about sticking to certain positions, such as the timetable for Israeli withdrawal from key regions like the Philadelphi corridor along the Egypt-Gaza border, some believe that Hamas may be ready to make compromises. One Israeli official suggested that while Hamas is signaling a desire for a deal, it is also seeking more flexibility from Israel in return. These developments hint at a potential breakthrough, but the ability to navigate these complex negotiations remains a significant challenge.

Meanwhile, Alexander’s parents have responded publicly to the video that Hamas released of their son. They issued a heartfelt plea, calling on President-elect Trump to work alongside President Biden and Prime Minister Netanyahu to immediately secure a deal that would bring all hostages home.

The parents described the video as β€œa haunting reminder” that 101 innocent people, including their son, remain in the clutches of Hamas. With each passing hour, they warned, the chances of survival for the hostages diminish. Their plea for β€œswift, decisive action” echoes the broader sentiment that a deal cannot wait until Trump’s inauguration. The time for action is now, and many believe that Trump’s leadership could provide the necessary leverage to make that action a reality.

We will not be sharing the video here out of respect for the family members of the U.S. citizen held hostage and out of an abudnance of prudence from the DC Daily Journal staff.
