The White House is constantly trying to gloss over Joe Biden’s mistakes. But one stands above the rest.
And a Fox News host has put Joe Biden on a skewer for trying to cover up this mistake that cost soldiers their lives.
Ask Americans what a few of the biggest stains on the tenure of the Joe Biden administration are so far, and a few answers will pop up more often than others. Usually they have to do with the economy and his foreign policy.
His horrible federal reserve decision-making to jack up interest rates and print money left and right is one that you’ll hear from those more concerned with the economy. His economic policy has worsened the housing crisis and continues to let inflation ravage the bank accounts of Americans, particularly when they just need to put food on the table to feed their families. Groceries are, on average, about 40% more expensive today than they were in 2019.
Then there’s his foreign policy, which has been confused at best, and utterly weak and soft at worst. It seems like every issue that comes up on the international stage is just taken as an opportunity by the Biden administration to make America look weak and unwilling to defend its interests.
The Afghanistan pullout has to be one of the most insane failures in terms of foreign policy, though. It’s a stain that the Biden administration hasn’t been able to live down after nearly three years since it happened.
Seriously, who in their right mind decides to leave billions of dollars worth of military equipment in Afghanistan?
Leftists are still trying to act like Joe Biden deserves the benefit of the doubt, no matter how bad the president’s decision making may be.
Recently, Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner countered a liberal co-panelist’s defense of President Joe Biden’s gaffes during his presidency. The discussion unfolded after a clip aired showing Biden mistakenly claiming to have spoken in Washington state. Leslie Marshall, a talk-show host, attempted to minimize the significance of Biden’s gaffes by asserting that everyone misspeaks occasionally.
“What I’m saying is I think it’s normal for people to make gaffes,” Leslie shared on the network. “I use notes when I give speeches, I’m not running for president but at the same time-”
Faulkner interjected, highlighting the concerns regarding Biden’s performance. She pointed out Marshall’s own proficiency in maintaining clarity during her radio show, implying that Biden’s lapses may not be attributable to mere human error.
“You do a radio show for hours. It’s rare for you to mix things up,” Faulkner said when cutting of Marshall. “I would hope that that would be the case because you’re good at what you do and your mind is sharp. I’m not so certain that he’s good at what he does or that his mind is sharp.”
Faulkner specifically criticized Biden’s statement regarding a “minor incursion” in response to a potential Russia invasion of Ukraine, emphasizing the gravity of such remarks given the subsequent Russian aggression. She also criticized Biden for allegedly glancing at his watch during a ceremony honoring fallen service-members from Afghanistan, an action deemed disrespectful by some family members.
“There are two words that I really, really with all my heart wish he hadn’t said: ‘minor incursion,’” the Fox News host went on to say.
“Now, I don’t know if that was on a card, if that was a gaffe, if that was a lie, if that was his fantasy about what foreign policy would work. That was the biggest gaffe that I think he will ever regret.”
She went on to lament how there were thirteen Americans who died because of his inability to pullout of Afghanistan safely.
“Now, the other thing, he didn’t say was looking at his watch when the caskets were on the tarmac that had just come back from Afghanistan with those families, those flag-draped caskets of the 13 Americas who died, on his watch because of the way he chose not to listen to the generals and pull out, ineffectively, out of Afghanistan after 20 years of war,” Faulkner said.
Faulkner stressed that while everyone makes mistakes, the magnitude of Biden’s errors, coupled with their global repercussions, distinguishes them from typical gaffes. She expressed concern about the impact of Biden’s actions and words on his credibility, both domestically and internationally, emphasizing that it transcends issues of age or mental acuity.
“We make those mistakes, we correct them, we try to in real time and move on,” Faulkner said while criticizing Joe Biden. “This is something different. This is the leader of the free world and he is losing credibility even on his own side of the aisle as Kayleigh has pointed out. This is serious business. It’s not age and acuity only. I think that’s just kind of who he is.”
