The radicalism of the Left is reaching new heights. They are furious that Trump won in 2024.
But a Fox News host shut down and shut up a radical Democrat who tried to lob a crazy attack on Trump.
Fox News Anchor Harris Faulkner Shuts Down Democrat Trying To Attack Trump For Inflation
Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner recently confronted former Democratic Pennsylvania Representative Patrick Murphy over the rising prices of eggs and their connection to inflation. During a heated exchange, Murphy attempted to pin the high cost of eggs on former President Donald Trump, while Faulkner reminded him that egg prices had already seen significant increases under President Joe Biden’s administration, especially as inflation reached record highs in 2022.
Egg prices in the United States have surged by 37% since late January 2024, largely driven by inflation and the ongoing bird flu epidemic. In fact, the U.S. Department of Agriculture has warned that egg prices could rise even further, potentially exceeding 20% this year. This sharp increase in prices has become a point of contention for political figures, with many seeking to lay the blame on the administration in power.
Murphy, seeking to attribute the surge in egg prices to former President Trump, argued, “When you had the price of eggs and inflation, the price of eggs was $3.65 in November, it’s now over $5. Hey, what’s going on here? We elected this guy to help our economy and drive our economy, make prices go down.” However, Faulkner was quick to remind Murphy that these high egg prices had already been a reality during Biden’s presidency, when inflation hit a peak of 9% in June 2022.
Faulkner Responds Sharply
In a direct response, Faulkner pointed out, “So wait a minute, because I don’t want a conversation with false flags in it. When eggs were up under your party’s president, the nation’s president, Biden, they were up because of inflation and they were up a lot more because inflation was rocking 9%. Eggs now are being pressed upon for a lot of health reasons that we have. We have a bird flu that’s jumped hose basically, so there are a lot of things pressing on that.”
Murphy continued to defend Biden’s efforts, crediting the president’s COVID relief programs for triggering inflation. He argued that while inflation had risen sharply, Biden eventually succeeded in bringing it under control. “The prices went up and then Biden controlled inflation and they went down, and that’s why we need to make sure we have the right economic policies that affect American families and that’s what I agree with,” Murphy said.
But Faulkner fired back, pointing out that Biden remained in office throughout the period of rising egg prices, suggesting that the issue wasn’t simply tied to a temporary economic blip. “You also realize that between November and two weeks ago, Biden was still president. We’re chasing our tail right now, and the dog isn’t even barking anymore,” Faulkner quipped.
Biden’s Inflation and Economic Policies
During Biden’s presidency, inflation hit record highs, peaking at 9% in June 2022 before gradually falling. In July 2023, inflation dropped below 3% for the first time in two years, signaling some relief for American consumers. However, the period of soaring inflation had left a lasting impact on various sectors of the economy, including food prices.
Economists widely blamed the inflationary surge on the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan and the $750 billion Inflation Reduction Act, two large spending initiatives pushed through at the start of Biden’s presidency. The American Rescue Plan provided direct stimulus checks to Americans, debt relief to state and local governments, and funding for vaccine distribution, while the Inflation Reduction Act allocated significant resources to green initiatives aimed at combating climate change.
In terms of egg prices, the numbers are striking. In January 2021, when Biden took office, the price of eggs was just $1.46 per dozen. By December 2024, this price had more than tripled to $4.14 per dozen, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The surge in egg prices was exacerbated by the bird flu epidemic, which k*lled millions of egg-laying hens and significantly disrupted the egg supply chain.
Along with inflation, the bird flu outbreak has been another major contributor to the rising cost of eggs. Since 2021, the avian influenza has k*lled over 300 million poultry birds worldwide. In the past three months alone, more than 30 million chickens have been affected, leading to a significant reduction in the egg-laying chicken population. This shortage has driven up egg prices even further, particularly as supply struggles to meet demand.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, during a briefing on January 28, placed blame on both the Biden administration and the Department of Agriculture for the “mass k*lling” of chickens due to the bird flu, which she said had played a major role in the sharp rise in egg prices.
