George Soros funded DA is exposed for an incriminating dereliction of duty

The Soros family has waged a subtle war at the state level. And it looks like they’re winning.

Because a George Soros funded DA is exposed for an incriminating dereliction of duty.

Soros-Backed Prosecutor Releases Dangerous Illegal Immigrant

A 23-year-old illegal immigrant from El Salvador with an extensive criminal record was freed by Fairfax County’s progressive Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano—whose 2019 campaign was heavily funded by George Soros—only to face homicide charges the very next day.

Local outlet WJLA reported that Descano’s office dropped felony charges against Marvin Morales-Ortez on Tuesday, releasing him back into the community despite his history of violent offenses.

Just one day later, Fairfax County Police arrested Morales-Ortez for a fatal shooting outside a Reston home.

Repeat Offender’s Long Rap Sheet Highlights Risks

Morales-Ortez had accumulated multiple felony arrests in Fairfax County, including assault and battery in 2020 and 2023 (plus disorderly conduct), petit larceny in 2024, and brandishing a firearm while assaulting and injuring a victim in September. His only conviction was for the theft.

He also faced a first-degree m*rder charge in 2021, spending 18 months in jail before those charges were dropped and another suspect convicted.

Critics note that lenient policies toward criminal aliens endanger public safety, allowing individuals with repeated run-ins with the law to remain free rather than facing deportation.

Descano’s office, bankrolled by Soros-linked Justice and Public Safety PAC, has drawn scrutiny for approaches that conservatives argue prioritize ideology over community protection.

Fellows at the Heritage Foundation observed in 2020 that such prosecutors often align with progressive agendas in exchange for funding.

Victim Unavailability Cited as Charges Dropped—With Tragic Consequences

A spokesperson for Descano’s office explained the release to WJLA, stating the earlier case collapsed because the victim was unavailable.

“Sadly, without the victim’s necessary testimony, we could not move forward with the case,” the Fairfax County court official said.

The spokesperson noted the victim informed police they were out of the country and unwilling to return for court.

While DHS and ICE declined comment, the rapid re-arrest underscores concerns that sanctuary-style policies and soft-on-crime prosecutors enable illegal immigrants with violent histories to evade accountability, putting American citizens at unnecessary risk.
