Newsom is trying to make a bigger name for himself. He has presidential ambitions.
And Governor Newsom was humiliated online for this asinine comment.
California’s slick Governor Gavin Newsom is at it again, spinning yarns that would make even the most gullible Hollywood scriptwriter blush. This time, it’s a wild claim about his famous pompadour catching fire during the deadly Palisades blaze earlier this year.
As everyday Americans struggle with the fallout from these disasters, Newsom’s out there peddling hero stories that just don’t add up.
It all blew up again on social media when an old clip resurfaced from Newsom’s chat on the Shawn Ryan Show back in July. The governor, always eager for the spotlight, described a dramatic moment up in the hills amid the chaos.
“I was up there in the hills with these guys when we all turned around — when my hair literally burst. There’s a video of it,” Newsom stated.
“And they threw me in the car and a guy hits my hair, and throws me in the car and says, ‘Get the f*ck out of here!’”
Let’s remember what happened with the Palisades Fire. It kicked off on January 7 in the Santa Monica Mountains, torching over 23,000 acres before firefighters got it under control, per CAL FIRE reports.
The destruction was heartbreaking: 12 lives lost, four injured, 6,837 homes and buildings wiped out, and nearly a thousand more damaged. This wasn’t some minor brush fire—it devastated families and communities.
Newsom was quick to declare a state of emergency that very day. Then there was the Eaton Fire, starting later the same day, claiming 19 more lives, injuring nine firefighters, and destroying over 9,400 structures.
The timing of this resurfacing couldn’t be funnier—or more suspicious. It comes right after Newsom’s awkward “t*sticle-crushing” pose in that New York Times interview went viral. Now, suddenly, we’re reliving his fiery hair drama.
Online patriots aren’t letting it slide. One X user, Kevin Dalton, whipped up an AI video showing Newsom’s locks igniting before he gets into a waiting limo. Pure gold—and it captures exactly how out-of-touch this guy seems.
Even the Orange County Republican Party jumped in with a k*ller tweet: “Newsom claims that his hair caught on fire and there’s video of it? Release the Newsom Hair Files!”
That’s the spirit—hold these politicians accountable and demand the truth. No more hiding behind slick PR teams.
But the real kicker comes from someone who was actually there on the ground. Ross Gerber, a longtime Palisades resident who almost lost his own home battling the flames, isn’t buying Newsom’s story one bit.
“Where are the videos? He should have them on his phone, because I was there,” Gerber stated. “It’s infuriating to me that I almost died fighting the fire near my house.”
He went further: “I didn’t see him go anywhere near the fire,” Gerber continued. “This is absurd.”
This whole episode exposes the arrogance of California’s ruling class.
While real Californians suffer from high taxes, crime, and now these preventable disasters, Newsom jets around telling exaggerated tales to boost his national image.
