The crisis in the Middle East is reaching critical levels. The Biden admin has no idea what to do.
Because Iran’s big announcement has President Biden quaking in his boots.
According to Iranian official media, a top official in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) was killed on Monday in an Israeli bombing near Damascus in Syria. Sayyed Razi Mousavi, whose job was to oversee Iran and Syria’s military partnership, was confirmed dead by three security sources, according to Reuters.
Mousavi was one of the longest-serving aides to the IRGC in Syria, and state media halted their broadcast to announce his death.
According to the statement, Mousavi was with Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the Iraqi Revolutionary Guard Corps’ elite Quds Force, when Soleimani was killed in a 2020 U.S. drone strike on Iraq.
According to Hossein Akbari, Iran’s ambassador in Damascus, Mousavi was murdered by missiles launched by Israel after going home from work while serving as an agent at the embassy, according to state television.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said that the killing demonstrated Israel’s vulnerability.
“This act is a sign of the Zionist regime’s frustration and weakness in the region for which it will certainly pay the price,” said Raisi in a statement.
Following Raisi’s lead, the IRGC warned that Israel will pay a price for the adviser’s murder.
“The usurper and savage Zionist regime will pay for this crime,” the IRGC declared in an announcement provided to state TV.
The foreign ministry’s spokesman, Nasser Kanaani, told state television that “Iran reserves the right to take necessary measures to respond to this action at the appropriate time and place.”
The Israeli military was mum on the news of Mousavi’s death at first.
Israeli attacks against Syrian targets with ties to Iran are not new and have occurred on a regular basis.
After supporting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in the 2011 civil war, Tehran’s influence in the nation has only grown.
Two Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) personnel and military advisors were killed in Israeli attacks in Syria, according to Iran this month.
This rhetoric from the Iranian President highlights just how much they have dug their heels into the ground in their war against Israel and her western allies.
Over the past two months, the Biden administration has reiterated their full support for Israel in their war against Islamic terrorists, particularly Hamas after the horrific October 7th attack of innocent Iraelis.
Though, shortly after the October 7th attack, Iran swiftly took the opportunity to proudly take some responsibility for the attacks by noting how they have been supporting the Hamas regime in recent years.
As a result, the Biden administration has effectively been dragged into another proxy war against Iran, not too unlike the Ukraine and Russia conflict that has been carrying on for nearly two years now.
U.S. media reports indicate that the Biden administration and the Democrat party as a whole are very concerned that these foreign conflicts are going to continue to drag down the outlook that Americans have on the Biden tenure leading up to the 2024 election.
You may remember that the Afghanistan pullout disaster was what truly began the tanking of the Biden approval ratings. Those approval ratings simply haven’t been able to recover ever since.
Now he’s got yet another proxy war on his hands with an opponent in Iran who is showing no signs of letting up any time soon.
