Jake Tapper announces a Democrat cover-up worse than Watergate

The Left has been found out. And it’s worse than you’d expect.

And now Jake Tapper announced a Democrat cover-up worse than Watergate.

CNN host Jake Tapper admitted Monday that the concealment of former President Joe Biden’s cognitive decline could overshadow the infamous Watergate scandal in scope and impact.

While discussing his new book, Original Sin, co-authored with Alex Thompson, Tapper faced probing questions from Piers Morgan about the Democratic Party’s efforts to mask Biden’s worsening health during his 2024 re-election bid.

Morgan challenged Tapper’s assertion in the book that the cover-up of Biden’s condition didn’t parallel the 1972 break-in at the Democratic National Committee headquarters, which ultimately led to Richard Nixon’s resignation.

“Joe Biden is not Richard Nixon, and the hiding and cover-up of his deterioration is not Watergate.’ I am not entirely sure I agree, Jake, with that conclusion,” Morgan, host of Piers Morgan Uncensored, said, citing Tapper’s own words.

Tapper clarified that he views the Biden health cover-up as “an entirely separate scandal” from Watergate, yet still “a scandal” in its own right.

“It is a scandal. It is without question – and maybe even worse than Watergate in some ways,” Tapper conceded, elaborating, “Because Richard Nixon was in control of his faculties when he was not drinking.”

He emphasized that he and Thompson didn’t intend to downplay the issue by distinguishing it from Watergate.

“The only reason that we have the Watergate thing in there is because we quote Archibald Cox, who was a Watergate investigator, talking about how powerful the presidency is and how presidents get surrounded by people who have a vested interest in keeping that president propped up,” Tapper explained.

“This is an entirely separate scandal,” he reiterated. “Maybe even worse … maybe even worse.”

As Tapper promotes Original Sin, he’s faced scrutiny over his prior reporting on Biden, with critics arguing he didn’t sufficiently highlight the former president’s health issues during his tenure.

“I think some of the criticism is fair, to be honest,” Tapper admitted on CNN earlier this month.

“Of me, certainly. I’m not going to speak for anybody else, but knowing then what I know now, I look back at my coverage during the Biden years — and I did cover some of these issues, but not enough,” he said, reflecting with candor. “I look back on it with humility.”

When Morgan directly asked if he owed the American public an apology, Tapper responded, “I feel like I owe the American people an acknowledgement that I wish I had covered the story better.”

In Original Sin, released last week, Tapper and Thompson expose Biden’s escalating health challenges during his presidency and the lengths to which his inner circle went to conceal them while pushing for his re-election.

The book recounts startling moments, such as Biden reportedly failing to recognize actor and Democratic ally George Clooney, an encounter that left Clooney “shaken to his core.”

It also reveals how aides contemplated using a wheelchair for the president and took measures to prevent public falls.

Biden withdrew his re-election campaign roughly a month after his faltering performance in the June 2024 debate against Donald Trump.
