In the aftermath of the 2022 midterms, Biden has been ramping up his rhetoric. He never saw this coming to stop him in his tracks.
And now Joe Biden is quaking in his boots over this invitation he was sent that’s utterly stunned him.
Recently, House Republican (R-CA) Kevin McCarthy sent Joe Biden a personal invitation to go to the southern border with him.
Of course, this is to highlight the reality that Joe Biden hasn’t visit the southern border since becoming president nearly two years ago in January 2021.
Since January 2021, the crisis at the southern border has only worsened and many believe that’s in large part the fault of the Biden administration.
It’s certainly a sore point for the Biden White House in general.
And it seems Joe Biden isn’t taking that well.
During a recent news briefing, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre erroneously claimed that President Joe Biden had visited the southern border while in office.
On Wednesday, Jean-Pierre was asked if Biden would accept House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s invitation to join him at the US-Mexico border.
“He’s been there,” stated the press secretary. “He’s been to the border. And since he took office.”
Travel logs show that Biden has never visited the border during his presidency, according to One America News Network.
“I don’t know why she chose to lie in this way on an issue where we’ve established Joe Biden has basically avoided the southern border like the plague,” political commentator Ben Domenech said on “Varney & Co.” recently.
“Not just in terms of his career in the White House, but in terms of his career as a senator as well. And it’s something that I think it’s just a blind spot for this entire White House, this entire administration, that would really prefer that they didn’t have to deal with any of the ramifications of the policy choices that they’ve made.”
Republicans have chastised Biden for failing to recognize the migrant situation and protect the southern border. Since taking over for former press secretary Jen Psaki, Jean-Pierre has been taking on the administration’s critics.
“It’s just a blind spot for this entire White House, this entire administration, that would really prefer that they didn’t have to deal with any of the ramifications of the policy choices that they’ve made when it comes to the border and that [Alejandro] Mayorkas has been so terrible at and actually implementing when it comes to the DHS policy involved,” Domenech said on Fox Business.
The administration’s border strategy appears to have influenced the Hispanic community’s bloc of Democratic Party support, with a significant shift in support occurring during the midterm elections last month.
“Republicans have typically lost the Hispanic vote by double-digit margins going back for a very long time in midterm elections,” Domenech remarked.
“This past midterm election, Republicans cut that in half. They essentially halved the gap that they had with Hispanic voters in America. And Hispanic voters are trending increasingly Republican.”
Despite condemnation from all sides of the political aisle, the White House has not responded regarding KJP’s falsehoods during her press conferences.
This is obviously something the White House is avoiding like the black plague.
They are hoping if they avoid the topic of the southern border, voters will forget about it.
But if the Hispanic voters moving Right in the midterms is any indication, that’s not what’s going to happen at all.
