The Supreme Court has faced intense attacks the past few years. Democrats are attacking the integrity of the institution.
And now Justice Clarence Thomas was stunned by this gross attempt to kick him from the Court bench.
Ever since then-Senator Joe Biden (D-DE) brutally maligned him during his 1991 confirmation hearing, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has been a target of Democrats.
Under Biden, the Democrats have suffered a series of devastating defeats at the hands of the Supreme Court’s new Constitutionalist plurality.
Thomas’s friendship with Republican donor Harlan Crow was the target of a series of attacks by the left-leaning publication ProPublica.
The Republican contributor sponsored a trip for the Thomas family to see Crow’s relatives. Due of their longstanding connection, this does not violate the Court’s ethics guidelines, but ProPublica attempted to create controversy anyway.
Their coverage made it sound like a major issue by using experts in the field of law who happen to be Democrats.
Several justices selected by Democrats likewise enjoyed comparable hospitality but were left out of the “journalists'” attack pieces.
Senate Democrats utilized the bogus incident to attempt to launch a probe into Crow and Federalist Society Vice President, Leonard Leo.
Conservative judicial think tank The Federalist Society played a role in informing President Trump’s court nominations.
The Senate Judiciary Committee, which is controlled by Democrats, has stated that it will summon Crow and Leo to speak about the manufactured issue surrounding Thomas.
A statement from Crow described the subpoena as “nothing more than a stunt aimed at undermining a sitting Supreme Court Justice for ideological and political purposes.”
Surprisingly, the Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman, Democrat Dick Durbin of Illinois, delayed a vote on whether or not to issue subpoenas for Crow and Leo.
This is the second time that Durbin has delayed issuing the subpoenas that his colleagues have been begging for.
A subpoena for former Obama administration appointee Justice Sonia Sotomayor’s staff included a group of changes to the subpoena submitted by Republicans.
According to an Associated Press article, her staff allegedly pushed public venues that sponsored her for speeches to purchase her biography and children’s book.
More than $3.7 million has been made by Sotomayor from the sale of her books.
The Supreme Court put an end to the contrived ethics dispute by unanimously approving a code of conduct designed to “dispel” the myth that its members “regard themselves as unrestricted by any ethics rules.”
The Democratic Party is on the hunt for whatever means are necessary to bring Justice Clarence Thomas’s illustrious career to an end.
