The White House is an outright mess. It’s even more corrupt than you may have thought.
That’s why Kamala Harris was blindsided by this White House violation of protocol.
White House Alters Transcript of Biden’s Remarks on Trump Supporters Amid Controversy
In a significant development, the White House has modified the transcript of President Biden’s remarks, in which he referred to supporters of former President Donald Trump as “garbage.” This alteration has sparked controversy, particularly among stenographers who argue that it breaches established protocol.
The original transcript, prepared by stenographers for the Voto Latino campaign call, included Biden’s statement: “The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters — his — his demonization of Latinos is unconscionable, and it’s un-American.” However, following backlash and increased attention online, the White House Press Office issued a revised version that changed the term “supporters” to “supporter’s,” adding an apostrophe.
The White House defended the change, claiming that Biden was specifically addressing a comment made by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who joked at a Trump rally about Puerto Rico being a “floating island of garbage.” Biden insisted that his remarks were not intended to criticize Trump’s supporters directly.
An internal email from the White House Stenography Office, which was obtained by the Associated Press and Fox News, characterized the Press Office’s alteration as “a breach of protocol and spoliation of transcript integrity between the Stenography and Press Offices.” The email clarified that the changes were made after “conferring with the president,” yet it underscored that the Press Office could not independently edit the transcript.

“If there is a difference in interpretation, the Press Office may choose to withhold the transcript but cannot edit it independently,” stated the stenography supervisor in the email. Furthermore, the supervisor noted, “Our Stenography Office transcript — released to our distribution, which includes the National Archives — is now different than the version edited and released to the public by Press Office staff.”
In response to the situation, White House spokesperson Andrew Bates addressed the issue, stating, “The President confirmed in his tweet on Tuesday evening that he was addressing the hateful rhetoric from the comedian at Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally. That was reflected in the transcript.”
Biden later clarified on X, saying he “referred to the hateful rhetoric about Puerto Rico spewed by Trump’s supporter at his Madison Square Garden rally as garbage—which is the only word I can think of to describe it.” He added, “His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable. That’s all I meant to say. The comments at that rally don’t reflect who we are as a nation.”
Vice President Kamala Harris sought to distance herself from Biden’s comments, emphasizing her belief in representing all Americans, regardless of their political affiliations. “I think that first of all, he clarified his comments, but let me be clear, I strongly disagree with any criticism of people based on who they vote for,” Harris stated.
In a bid to capitalize on the situation, Trump has referenced Biden’s remarks during his appearances, including a notable moment where he appeared on a garbage truck in Green Bay, Wisconsin. “Remember Hillary? She said ‘deplorable’ and then ‘irredeemable,’ right? But she said ‘deplorable.’ That didn’t work out. ‘Garbage’ I think is worse,” Trump remarked. He added, “But he doesn’t know—you have to please forgive him. Please forgive him. For he not knoweth what he said.”

Furthermore, Trump humorously suggested, “And I’m convinced he likes me more than he likes Kamala,” as he sought to rally support among his base.
Donald Trump wore the vest from his garbage truck stunt at his rally, making jokes about how he didn’t want to wear it but found it slimming when he put it on. This was a prime example of how Donald Trump is a far superior connector with his supporters compared to anyone on the Left (or the Right for that matter).

Even many commentators on the Left in the mainstream media are lamenting the timing of these comments from Joe Biden because the media was just in a cycle of trying to nail Donald Trump to comments a roast commedian made during his MSG rally. Now that story has been burried because the sitting President of the United States is not some random comedian making a joke. He’s the commander-in-chief outright calling tens of millions of Americans garbage.
