President Biden has hurt the Democrat party. The impact is game-changing.
That’s why Kamala Harris is furious at Joe Biden for this devastating failure.
After the horrible October 7th attack on innocent Israelis in which ruthless Hamas terrorists invaded Israel to target civilians specifically, Americans were worried about the Middle Eastern conflict turning into another longterm proxy war that the United States will be stuck in much like the one between Ukraine and Russia.
Americans have a ton of different opinions about Israel, but the vast majority of Americans want the war between Israel and Hamas and Hezbollah to end sooner rather than later. Joe Biden has even promised many times over the past year that he would bring an end to the conflict.
Despite the promises, there doesn’t seem to be an end to the war on the horizon. These promises from Joe Biden and his administration are now coming back extremely hollow. Reportedly, this has Democrats seriously frustrated that they’ve been unable to keep these promises, particularly because of how bad it will hurt Kamala Harris and U.S. Senate Democrats in their races this November.
Concerns for the Biden Administration as Middle East Conflict Continues Ahead of Elections
As the U.S. presidential elections approach in November, the Biden administration and Kamala Harris campaign are increasingly anxious about the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, as reported by The Washington Post. The conflict, which began last October between Israel and Hamas, has since escalated, drawing in regional actors like Iran and Hezbollah.
In an effort to stabilize the situation, the Biden-Harris administration has been advocating for a ceasefire and regional de-escalation, hoping for a resolution before election day. However, these efforts have not materialized, leading campaign officials to express concerns about potential impacts on Democratic voter turnout.
“It’s a huge concern. It comes down to people saying, ‘I can’t support anyone who supports a genocide,’” a Harris campaign official told the Post, using a controversial term to characterize Israel’s military actions against Hamas in Gaza.
Despite months of diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire, progress has stalled, with neither side showing interest in a viable agreement. Additionally, Israeli forces have intensified military operations against Hezbollah, which has been launching attacks against Israel since last year.
Tensions with Iran have also escalated, with the country firing nearly 200 ballistic missiles into Israeli territory on October 1. Reports indicate that Israel may launch retaliatory strikes in the coming weeks.
The administration’s ability to influence the conflict appears to be waning as time goes on, leading officials to reflect on past actions and decisions. “What we did had the effect of endorsing Israel’s military campaign before understanding whether Israel had a viable exit strategy,” Andrew Miller, a former State Department official, stated. “I don’t think there’s anyone in the administration who could say with a straight face Israel had a clearly defined end-state.”
The Harris campaign is particularly concerned about losing support among Democratic voters due to the ongoing conflict and U.S. backing of Israel. This worry is especially pronounced in Michigan, a key swing state with a significant Muslim and Arab population.
Initially, Harris’ advisers believed she had sufficiently distanced herself from Biden’s approach to the Israel-Palestine issue, hoping that her more sympathetic stance toward Palestinian concerns would resonate with Muslim and Arab voters. However, as the conflict drags on, gaining that support has proven increasingly challenging.
Internally, there are growing doubts among top Biden officials about the possibility of achieving de-escalation before the president leaves office. “No deal is imminent,” one U.S. official remarked to The Wall Street Journal in September. “I’m not sure it ever gets done.”
Israel Snuffs Out Hamas Leader Yahya Sinwar, Brings Peace One Step Closer
Early on Thursday, it was reported that Israel had finally dealt a serious blow to the Hamas terrorist organization by taking the life of their leader Yahya Sinwar. This definitely brings the conflict significantly closer to coming to an end with Hamas clearly struggling to compete against the Israeli force.
U.S. lawmakers in Congress reacted to the news saying that it was time for Hamas and the Palestinians to come to the table in good faith to bring an end to the conflict that is causing innocent men, women, and children to lose their lives.
