The vice president can’t handle primetime. And now she can’t even hide it.
Because this Kamala Harris town hall fell apart after she was asked one question.
In yet another staged appearance, Vice President Kamala Harris continues to show just how carefully her public image is managed, ensuring she never faces a genuine, unscripted moment.
Former California first lady Maria Shriver let it slip at a Michigan town hall event that only “pre-determined questions” were permitted to be asked of Harris, raising more questions about her inability to handle real, on-the-spot queries.
When a concerned attendee asked, “Are we going to be able to ask a question?” Shriver quickly shut her down, responding, “You’re not, unfortunately, we have some pre-determined questions.”
It was a clear admission that what was supposed to be a town hall — where voters normally have the chance to ask pressing, unscripted questions — was instead just a controlled show.
“Hopefully I’ll be able to ask some of the questions that might be in your head,” Shriver added, attempting to soften the blow. But the damage was done.
Video of the exchange spread rapidly on social media, with people slamming the event as nothing more than a Harris campaign “production.”

One user nailed it, stating, “That’s not a town hall. That’s called a stage production,” criticizing Harris as “incapable of off the cuff.”
Fox News analyst Brit Hume sarcastically remarked, “Some ‘town hall,’” while another user described the entire event as a “prepped answer show.”
The recurring theme from critics was obvious: Harris can’t handle real questions, so everything is staged to protect her.
Former Trump White House aide Chad Gilmartin summed it up best, pointing out that when it comes to Harris, “everything is scripted and nothing will change.”
Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung was more blunt, posting, “HOLY S–T! They’re not even hiding it anymore,” as he shared the viral clip of Shriver’s admission.
Despite this farce of a town hall, Harris still only took three pre-approved questions, while Shriver heaped praise on Liz Cheney, calling her an “incredible, courageous public servant” — clearly signaling the event’s political slant.
Shriver, a former Republican’s ex-wife, seems to have bought into the Harris-Cheney show, writing on X that the event represented “country over party.”
But for anyone paying attention, it looked more like politics as usual: tightly controlled, overly scripted, and disconnected from real voters.
Harris also held a similar “town hall” in Wisconsin with Cheney, moderated by anti-Trump commentator Charlie Sykes, where it’s uncertain if the audience questions were also pre-screened — but given the Harris campaign’s track record, would anyone be surprised?
The Harris campaign, unsurprisingly, did not respond to the New York Post’s request for comment. No transparency here — just more of the same from Kamala Harris.
