The Left is saying the quiet part out loud. They don’t want “diversity,” they want uniformity.
And now a leading Democrat dropped jaws with a sickening call to repeal the First Amendment.
Democrat John Kerry, Biden’s so-called “Climate Czar,” is once again showing just how far he’s willing to go in undermining fundamental American rights.
Last week, Kerry made it clear that the First Amendment — the cornerstone of free speech in the United States — is standing in the way of the Democrats’ crusade against what they label as “disinformation.”
Speaking to the World Economic Forum on Green Energy, Kerry was asked how to tackle online information that the Left deems undesirable.
His response? Blaming the First Amendment for making it difficult to silence dissenting voices.
“You know there’s a lot of discussion now about how you curb those entities in order to guarantee that you’re going to have some accountability on facts, etc.,” Kerry said, clearly suggesting the government should have more control over what can and cannot be said.
He went even further, admitting that the First Amendment stands as a “major block” to Democrats’ goals of shutting down opposing viewpoints.
“If people only go to one source, and the source they go to is sick, and, you know, has an agenda, and they’re putting out disinformation, our First Amendment stands as a major block to be able to just, you know, hammer it out of existence,” Kerry lamented.
Translation? Kerry and his fellow Democrats would love nothing more than to “hammer out” any narrative they disagree with.
In a free society, people are entitled to access information from various sources — whether or not John Kerry approves of them.
He wasn’t finished. He added that the only solution to this “problem” was to win more elections and gain the power to implement changes that would likely further erode free speech protections.
“So what we need is to win the ground, win the right to govern, by hopefully winning enough votes that you’re free to be able to implement change,” Kerry said, signaling the Left’s ongoing obsession with controlling speech.
Kerry also criticized democracies for their lack of a “truth arbiter,” implying that no one is in place to determine what the “facts” are — meaning, of course, that Democrats don’t have enough control over the narrative.
Is this the kind of thinking we want from a public official who claims to represent American values?
It’s clear that Kerry has little regard for the very constitutional rights he swore to uphold.
The Democrats are clinging to censorship as their last-ditch effort, as Kamala Harris continues to flounder in key swing states and among Hispanic voters against Donald Trump.
The candidate they hastily shoved onto the ticket is proving even more unpopular than her predecessor, Joe Biden. Beyond her off-putting demeanor and habit of incoherent rambling, Harris’ biggest problem is the border crisis she’s directly tied to.
As Biden’s handpicked “border czar,” Harris can’t distance herself from the disaster that has unfolded under her watch.
With anywhere from 12 to 20 million illegal immigrants flooding into the country, including dangerous criminals and potential terrorists, the damage is undeniable. And voters are taking note.
