Leftist governor threatens Donald Trump in a move that has all hell breaking loose

Democrats are trying their hardest to fight back against the Trump admin. Now they’re getting desperate.

And this Leftist governor threatened Donald Trump in a move that has all hell breaking loose.

Democrats in Denial: Pritzker and Johnson Defy Trump’s Push to Save Chicago from Crime Chaos

Illinois Democrats are digging in their heels against President Trump’s plan to restore law and order in crime-ravaged Chicago. Governor JB Pritzker fired off a warning shot, declaring that the state won’t back down if Trump follows through on deploying the National Guard to tackle violence in the Windy City.

“Unlike Donald Trump, we keep our promises,” the governor said in a post on X. “We will not stand idly by if he decides to send the National Guard to intimidate Chicagoans.”

Pritzker didn’t stop there, adding a stern message that hints at potential confrontation. “Action will be met with a response,” he said.

This clash marks the latest chapter in the ongoing battle between Pritzker and Trump, as the White House considers stepping in to help a city that’s been left to rot under liberal leadership.

Just last week, Pritzker tried to downplay the bloodshed, insisting there’s no real crisis. He accused Trump of “attempting to manufacture a crisis, politicize Americans who serve in uniform, and continue abusing his power to distract from the pain he is causing working families.”

Pritzker doubled down on his priorities, but critics say he’s more focused on blocking federal help than actually protecting citizens. “The safety of the people of Illinois is always my top priority,” Pritzker said on Saturday. “There is no emergency that warrants the President of the United States federalizing the Illinois National Guard, deploying the National Guard from other states, or sending active duty military within our own borders. We will continue to follow the law, stand up for the sovereignty of our state, and protect the people of Illinois.”

By Monday, the governor was ramping up the rhetoric, calling any federal deployment flat-out wrong. Any possible deployment of federal law enforcement is “unconstitutional” and “un-American,” he said.

Pritzker went even further, painting Trump as some kind of dictator for wanting to clean up the streets. “Donald Trump wants to use the military to occupy a US city, punish its dissidents and score political points,” he stated. “If this were happening in any other country, we would have no trouble calling it what it is — a dangerous power grab.”

Chicago’s own Mayor Brandon Johnson, another Democrat who’s overseen the city’s slide into disorder, jumped in with cherry-picked stats to claim things are improving. He pointed to data showing violent crime down in the last year, with homicides and robberies dropping by over 30%, and shootings falling by almost 40%.

But let’s be real—crime is still on the rise compared to 2021, as Chicago police stats clearly show. These so-called declines don’t erase the daily nightmare for hardworking families trapped in dangerous neighborhoods.

Johnson slammed Trump’s approach as reckless and unnecessary. “The problem with the President’s approach is that it is uncoordinated, uncalled for, and unsound,” Johnson declared last week. “Unlawfully deploying the National Guard to Chicago has the potential to inflame tensions between residents and law enforcement when we know that trust between police and residents is foundational to building safer communities.”

The mayor wrapped up with a dramatic flourish, invoking unity against what he sees as overreach. “When we fight back against tyranny, the people united will always prevail.”

It’s not just Pritzker and Johnson—other Illinois bigwigs are piling on, blasting the idea of federal troops as an invasion rather than the lifeline Chicago desperately needs.

Trump wasn’t about to let these attacks slide. On Tuesday, he hit back hard on social media, calling out the failures of local leaders. “A really DEADLY weekend in Chicago,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social. “6 DEAD, 27 HURT IN CRIME SPREES ALLOVER THE CITY. Panic stricken Governor Pritzker says that crime is under control, when in fact it is just the opposite. He is an incompetent Governor who should call me for HELP. Mayor Johnson is no better. Make Chicago Great Again!”

Trump called Pritzker “incompetent” and said Johnson is “no better,” emphasizing how these Democrats have let the city spiral out of control while rejecting real solutions.

This showdown follows Trump’s successful crackdown in Washington, DC, where he’s ramped up federal law enforcement to curb crime.
