Democrats always find the wrong things to get upset about. It’s partly why their party is so unpopular right now.
And Leftists are throwing a fit for one asinine reason.
In a world where the left loves to preach about tolerance and open dialogue, the masks are slipping faster than ever. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and a parade of Democrat politicians and talking heads are in full meltdown mode, rushing to the rescue of suspended late-night hack Jimmy Kimmel. They’ve branded his indefinite boot from ABC as some kind of assault on liberty itself. But let’s cut through the noise: this is peak elite hypocrisy, where a comedian’s snarky rant gets more sympathy than the cold-blooded k*lling of a true patriot like Charlie Kirk.
ABC yanked Kimmel off the air after he spewed venom about conservatives in the wake of Kirk’s tragic assassination. On his Monday show, Kimmel didn’t hold back, declaring, “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who m*rdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.” That’s the kind of bile that’s been poisoning late-night TV for years, all while painting everyday Americans who back Trump as monsters.
Enter Schumer, the New York Democrat who’s made a career out of grandstanding. He leaped into the fray, painting Kimmel’s suspension as a harbinger of doom for the republic. “It is outrageous. It’s a page right out of Xi’s playbook,” he stated. “This is just despicable, disgusting, and against democratic values. Trump and his allies seem to want to shut down speech that they don’t like to hear.”
How does Schumer square this circle, you ask? He doesn’t even try. Remember, ABC just forked over millions to settle a defamation suit from President Trump, sparked by their own anchor George Stephanopoulos running his mouth.
Over on MSNBC, Chris Hayes couldn’t resist piling on, framing Kimmel’s fate as basically ground zero in “Donald Trump’s ongoing campaign to crack down on free speech” and a plot to “render the First Amendment meaningless.” Hayes, ever the partisan warrior, conveniently forgets his own glee when Fox showed Tucker the door last year. Back then, he crowed, “He believed he could say anything no matter how vile, no matter how disgusting, no matter how offensive, no matter how dehumanizing, belittling … over time, probably not going to work out well for you.”

Hayes and his ilk love to wrap themselves in the flag of free expression, but only when it suits their agenda. When a voice like Tucker’s challenges the establishment, suddenly it’s all about accountability and consequences.
Then there’s Jim Acosta, the former CNN attack dog who’s built a brand on Trump-bashing. He took to the airwaves with a tribute to Kimmel, insisting, “Jimmy Kimmel deserves better than this. He’s a class act. Case in point – after my first appearance on his show back in 2018, he very thoughtfully asked whether I was receiving adequate security at that time, as Trump was repeatedly smearing journalists as ‘the enemy of the people,’ comments that resulted in threats aimed at many of us in the White House Press Corps. I’ll never forget that moment of kindness from Jimmy. It spoke volumes. Make no mistake, our right to free speech is under attack in this country. This right must be defended as it is essential to the American way of life.”
Acosta is the same guy who turned White House briefings into circus acts. Now he’s invoking Trump’s old rhetoric to paint a target on the backs of media darlings like Kimmel. It’s classic projection: accuse your opponents of the very tactics you’re mastering.
Speaking of legislation, get this: there’s even a bill floating around Congress aimed at stopping President Trump from attacking free speech. Never mind that ABC, not the White House, pulled the plug on Kimmel. These Democrats are so desperate to kneecap Trump that they’re legislating against shadows.
This whole circus exposes the rot at the heart of the Democrat-media complex. They mourn a comedian’s lost paycheck more than they do a conservative leader gunned down in cold blood. As Stephen L. Miller nailed it in one brutal line: “The national media being more upset at Jimmy Kimmel losing his show than they are Charlie Kirk losing his life is kind of proving the point.”

Charlie Kirk’s death should have united Americans against senseless violence, but the left twisted it into another club to beat MAGA with. They couldn’t stomach the idea that the assassin might not fit their script, so they lashed out at anyone pointing out the ugly truths. Kimmel’s rant was just the latest symptom of a media machine that’s more interested in division than healing.
Schumer’s Xi comparison? That’s not just unhinged; it’s a slap in the face to every American who’s fought for real freedom. Comparing a private network’s HR decision to Chinese dictatorship is the kind of hyperbole that erodes trust in our institutions. Trump and his allies aren’t shutting down speech—they’re calling out the bias that’s been strangling fair discourse for years.
As this drama unfolds, one thing’s crystal clear: the left’s free speech crusade is a one-way street. They cheer when conservative voices get canceled but cry foul when their jesters take a fall.
