The mainstream media is going insane. They really can’t handle Trump back in power.
Now MSNBC descended into chaos after they spewed this lie about Donald Trump.
MSNBC’s Joy Reid stirred controversy with her latest remarks, claiming that Republicans are so devoted to President Donald Trump that they would support him even if he decided to sell the United States to Russia.
The provocative statement came during an interview on Thursday night, where Reid was speaking with Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY).
“If Donald Trump announced tomorrow that he was selling the United States to Vladimir Putin personally and that we will now be owned by the Kremlin, every single Republican would say, ‘Yes, sir,’ and vote for it,” Reid asserted.
“We already have seen their behavior,” she continued, pointing to Trump’s recent series of executive orders. “We’ve stopped – I think most of us have – stopped expecting any different behavior.”
Reid’s comments came on the heels of Trump announcing that he had a “lengthy and highly productive” conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier in the day.
According to Trump, the discussion focused on efforts to end the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. However, he also mentioned it was “unlikely” that Ukraine would recover any territory seized by Russia over the past three years.
The interview took place as Senate Republicans pushed forward with their budget resolution, marking the first step toward advancing Trump’s domestic policy agenda.
Reid’s assertion about Republican loyalty comes amid broader concerns about Trump’s diplomatic outreach to Putin.
Democrats and much of the mainstream media have been vocal in their criticism of Trump’s “peace” talks with the Russian leader. Some have accused the president of attempting to coerce Ukraine into accepting a resolution that would be detrimental to its interests.
Should Trump manage to broker an end to the war, it could be a significant foreign policy achievement early in his new term.
Earlier in the day, Trump defended his position, stating his belief in Putin’s desire for peace.
“I believe President Putin when I spoke to him yesterday. I know him very well. I think he wants peace. I think he would tell me if he didn’t,” Trump told reporters. “I trust him on this subject. I think he’d like to see something happen.”
Trump also expressed interest in having Russia reinstated into the G7, a move that many Western allies view with skepticism. Russia was expelled from the group in 2014 following its annexation of Crimea.
The global community has reacted with concern over Trump’s outreach to Putin. European leaders have accused him of prematurely offering concessions, potentially at Ukraine’s expense.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky voiced his dissatisfaction, saying it was “not very pleasant” to learn that Trump had spoken with Putin without consulting him first.
Zelensky emphasized his preference for a three-way dialogue with both Trump and Putin, stating his intent to present a “plan to stop Putin” during his upcoming meeting with U.S. Vice President JD Vance in Munich.
The stakes remain high as the war in Ukraine drags on, and Trump’s interactions with Putin continue to fuel intense debate over America’s foreign policy direction and the unwavering loyalty of his political base.
