Democrats have grown completely unhinged. They hold so many dangerous and extreme viewpoints.
And a new poll has exposed the scary truth about the Democrat Party.
A startling new survey, bankrolled by socialists themselves, reveals that the Democratic Party is veering hard left, with socialism no longer a fringe idea but a dominant force among its base. This poll, funded by the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) Fund and carried out by Data for Progress, paints a picture of a party increasingly at odds with America’s free-market roots.
The findings hit hard, according to Politico: Over half of likely Democratic voters now lean toward socialism, favoring it over the capitalist system that built this nation. They show strong support for extreme leftist figures like Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic candidate for New York mayor, and high-profile radicals such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Gabe Tobias, the executive director of the DSA Fund—which serves as the political education wing of the Democratic Socialists of America—didn’t mince words about the results. “What the mainstream of the party wants is both democratic socialism as a value system and democratic socialist politicians,” he declared, highlighting the poll’s key takeaway.
Digging into the numbers, 53 percent of Democrats polled expressed preference for socialist-leaning politicians like Sen. Bernie Sanders from Vermont, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez from New York, and Mamdani.
In contrast, only 33 percent stuck with the old-guard establishment types, including Sen. Chuck Schumer, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi from California. A smaller 14 percent opted out of choosing either side.
This isn’t just about personalities; it’s about ideology. The survey indicates that Democrats hold self-described democratic socialists in nearly the same high regard as those who simply call themselves Democrats. When presented with clear definitions, they overwhelmingly side with socialist principles.
The poll laid out democratic socialism plainly: believers in this system push for the government to play a bigger role in everyday life, advocating higher taxes on big corporations and the wealthy, tougher rules to shield workers and buyers, and greater public control over essential sectors like housing, healthcare, and utilities.
On the flip side, capitalism was described as trusting the private sector to drive progress, favoring lower taxes, resisting heavy-handed business regulations, and keeping those key industries in private hands.
When forced to pick after hearing these explanations, a whopping 74 percent of Democratic voters said democratic socialism matched their beliefs, while a mere 16 percent went with capitalism. This lopsided result exposes how deeply entrenched these ideas have become within the party.
It’s no shock that socialism remains poison for Republicans and a good chunk of independents. The survey confirms that GOP voters and swing independents largely reject it, sticking firmly to capitalist ideals that emphasize freedom and opportunity.
This divide explains why socialist candidates thrive in deep-blue strongholds like New York City, where progressive echo chambers dominate, but flop miserably in red states or swing districts where everyday Americans value self-reliance over government handouts.
The poll’s timing couldn’t be more telling, coming as the left pushes its agenda nationwide. Funded directly by socialists, it serves as their own admission that they’re gaining ground within Democrats, potentially alienating the broader electorate.
With 1,257 likely voters surveyed from August 22 to 24, and a margin of error at plus or minus 3 percentage points, these results carry weight. As the first official poll from the DSA Fund, it marks a step in their campaign to normalize what many see as a threat to American prosperity.
For right-thinking populists, this survey is a wake-up call. It shows the Democratic elite drifting further from the working-class values that once defined parts of their party, now chasing utopian schemes that could burden families with more taxes and bureaucracy.
Imagine a future where government seizes control of housing and healthcare—sounds like a recipe for inefficiency and lost freedoms. This poll lays bare the Democrats’ growing infatuation with such policies, which could spell trouble in upcoming elections.
As America grapples with economic pressures, embracing socialism might appeal to some disillusioned voters, but history warns of its pitfalls. From failed experiments abroad to stifled innovation at home, the risks are real, and this survey demands vigilance from those who cherish our capitalist heritage.
