It’s over for Joe. The pressure for him to drop out is mounting like never before.
And President Biden shoved his foot right in his mouth with this brain-dead statement.
Hours after the White House assured reporters that President Biden had not undergone any recent medical exams, a surprising twist emerged: the president himself reportedly contradicted this claim, telling governors he indeed had a recent checkup.
During a Wednesday press briefing, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was unequivocal about the president’s health status.
When CNN’s Min Jung “MJ” Lee asked, “Has the president had any medical exams since his last annual physical in February?” Jean-Pierre responded clearly, “And got – and we were able to talk to the – to his doctor about that, and that is a no.”
Jean-Pierre reiterated the 81-year-old president’s lack of recent medical exams.
“He hasn’t had any kind of medical exam?” Jung pressed. “No,” Jean-Pierre confirmed.
However, just hours later, during a meeting with Democratic governors at the White House, Biden reportedly told them a different story.
According to the New York Times, Biden mentioned he had seen the White House physician to check on the cold he claimed to have during his debate against Trump.
He also reportedly informed the governors that he would no longer schedule events after 8 p.m. to “get more sleep.”
This apparent contradiction prompted questions.
In response, the White House sent a statement to Fox News Digital clarifying, “Several days later, the President was seen to check on his cold and was recovering well.”
These comments come amid escalating concerns from Biden’s allies, politicians, and media figures about his age and mental sharpness.
Biden’s recent debate performance, marked by a raspy voice and rambling answers, did little to assuage these worries.
Following the debate, a sense of “panic” seemed to grip Democrats and liberal media figures.
The optics led to a media frenzy, with reports of Democratic Party officials suggesting Biden should consider stepping down before the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in August.
Some strategists are urging swift action to replace Biden before his nomination becomes official.
Vice President Harris, plagued by unpopularity with voters, has been largely ruled out as a potential replacement.
Meanwhile, names like California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer have been floated as potential last-minute alternatives.
