The last thing the Democrat candidate needs is more bad press. But she can blame her own family this time.
Because scandal exploded after Kamala’s husband was accused of this disgusting act.
Former colleagues of Doug Emhoff, the husband of Vice President Kamala Harris, have come forward with serious allegations describing him as “misogynistic” and “inappropriate” towards women, according to a recent Daily Mail report.
During his time at the Los Angeles law firm Venable from 2006 to 2017, Emhoff is accused of creating a hostile work environment for female employees.
Attorneys who worked with him claim he frequently used profanities against women, excluded them from office cocktail hours, withheld work incentives unless women engaged in flirtatious behavior with him, and selectively invited only young, attractive women to social events.
These former colleagues chose to speak with the Daily Mail anonymously out of fear of potential retaliation. One senior ex-staffer recounted how Emhoff would “brag” about shouting at a female partner to “get the f—- out of my office” and later telling his peers that he had “put her in her place.”
She described an incident where she needed to speak with him, only to find his office door closed and confirm he wasn’t on the phone.
When she “slightly opened the door and stuck her head in,” Emhoff reportedly told her, “Get the f—- out of my office.” Shocked by his behavior, she explained, “He’s an a——-e. He told them how he ’put her in her place.’ A misogynist, that’s who does that.”
Emhoff was also characterized by a female lawyer from Venable as being “very flirty” in the workplace. She revealed that women who did not reciprocate his advances were effectively placed on his “s—t list,” facing repercussions such as being denied opportunities to work on preferred cases or being subjected to stricter deadlines.
“You wouldn’t get to work on the cases you wanted to work on,” she stated. “There were deadlines that, if you were one of his favorite people, wouldn’t apply. But if you weren’t, they would.”
Another former female employee accused Emhoff of organizing men-only cocktail hours at the office, specifically on Friday evenings.
“He had for many years cocktail parties where only men were invited. In the office, on Friday evening,” she said.
She added, “When my colleague brought that to the attention of Venable [around 2010], that stopped.”
These new allegations starkly contrast with the image of Emhoff as the supportive and amiable spouse that the Harris campaign has promoted. The Daily Mail continues to uncover more troubling stories from Emhoff’s past.
Just last week, an ex-girlfriend claimed that over a decade ago at an event during France’s Cannes Film Festival, Emhoff slapped her because he suspected she was flirting with a car valet.
In response, a spokesperson for Emhoff told Semafor, a political news site, that the report was “untrue” and firmly denied, “any suggestion that he would or ever hit a woman is false.”
Adding to the controversy, Emhoff admitted in August to having an affair with the nanny of his children, who was also their grade school teacher, during his first marriage — a revelation that followed a Daily Mail report on the matter.
He later married Kamala Harris, his second wife, in 2014.
As these allegations surface, they challenge the carefully curated public persona of Doug Emhoff and raise questions about the conduct and character of the Second Gentleman.
