Secret Service director gives the worst excuse for why she failed Trump

The nation is still reeling from the idea that Trump could’ve been killed recently. Now we’re getting answers, and not everyone is loving them.

And the Secret Service director gave the worst excuse for why she failed Trump.

What’s happening?

The Secret Service director is under fire after stating in an interview that agents were not stationed on the building’s roof, where a shooter targeted a Trump rally, due to its “sloped roof.”

This comment has sparked backlash, especially as images show snipers on a similarly sloped roof behind Trump’s podium.

In her interview with ABC News, U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle acknowledged the security risks associated with the building from which Thomas Matthew Crooks took aim at Trump.

“That building in particular has a sloped roof at its highest point. And so, you know, there’s a safety factor that would be considered there that we wouldn’t want to put somebody up on a sloped roof. And so, you know, the decision was made to secure the building from inside,” Cheatle explained.

However, her remarks were quickly denounced online. Critics deemed Cheatle’s “sloped roof” justification as a “total BS excuse” that “defies believability.”

“Our snipers used to set in on mountain tops in Afghanistan. On the down slopes if need be,” former Army Ranger and author Sean Parnell wrote on X, dismissing Cheatle’s rationale as a “total BS excuse.”

“The stupidity of this statement explains so much of why s— hit the fan that day. Absolute incompetence,” he added.

“This sad excuse about defies believability. The snipers above President Trump were on a sloped roof so why couldn’t they secure the sloped roof that the assassin was on?” said former U.S. Senator from South Carolina, Jim DeMint.

“She should have been fired days ago. We need accountability.”

“Ironically, the snipers who were behind Trump during the rally were on a sloped roof,” added Trending Politics co-owner Collin Rugg on X.

“She is bulls—ing and getting away with it.”

Fox News Digital requested clarification on Cheatle’s comments from the Secret Service, but they did not immediately respond.

Why this is important?

Since the attempt on Trump’s life, no one has been fired for their incredible lack of judgement.

This isn’t a case of delaying the president before he gets to a meeting or gumming up traffic.

This is Donald Trump’s life. And we’re sure it wouldn’t be hand waved away if it was Biden in the same position.
