The Trump admin doesn’t play games. Especially not with untrustworthy mainstream media heads.
That’s why Secretary of State Rubio had to go on CBS and rip their host into pieces.
Rubio Tears Apart Liberal Media’s Anti-Trump Hysteria on Ukraine Peace Talks
Secretary of State Marco Rubio absolutely demolished host Margaret Brennan’s baseless claims that European leaders are rushing to the White House to shield Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy from being “bullied” by President Donald Trump. This kind of nonsense is straight out of the fake news playbook, designed to undermine Trump’s bold efforts to broker real peace in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Brennan tried to push the narrative that Europeans are showing up en masse out of “concern” that Zelenskyy might get strong-armed into a raw deal. But Rubio wasn’t having any of it, pointing out that America has been lockstep with its allies in hammering out a sensible path to end the war.
“You know there’s concern among Europeans that President Zelenskyy is gonna be bullied into signing something away, that’s why you have these European leaders coming as backup tomorrow. Can you reassure them?” Brennan asked.
“No, it isn’t. … That’s not true,” Rubio said. “They’re not coming here to keep Zelenskyy from being bullied … Do you know how many meetings we’ve had since then? We’ve had a bunch of meetings since then.”
Rubio called out the “bullying” smear as nothing more than a “stupid media narrative,” making it clear that it was the Trump administration that extended the invitations to these leaders. This isn’t about babysitting Zelenskyy—it’s about collaborative diplomacy under strong American leadership. The administration has held a “dozen meetings” with Zelenskyy and has worked closely with European allies, whom Trump has talked to “as early as Thursday,” Rubio said.
“This is such a stupid media narrative that [European leaders are] coming here tomorrow because Trump is going to bully Zelenskyy into a bad deal. We’ve been working with these people for weeks, for weeks on this stuff,” Rubio continued. “They’re coming here tomorrow because they chose to come here tomorrow. We invited them to come. We invited them to come. The president invited them to come.”
Rubio emphasized that the gathering is happening because there’s been “enough progress” from the recent Alaska summit between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. That’s the kind of forward momentum you get when a real leader like Trump steps in to cut through the endless stalemate.
The corporate media, ever eager to bash Trump, accused him of fawning over Putin by rolling out the red carpet at the Alaska talks. They spun a simple diplomatic gesture—a warm handshake—as some betrayal of Ukraine, but Rubio set the record straight on ABC’s This Week with Martha Raddatz.
In response to the red carpet criticisms, Rubio told ABC News’ Martha Raddatz on This Week that Trump cordially met with Putin because it is a necessary step to end the war.
This episode highlights the relentless bias from outlets like CBS and ABC, who can’t stand seeing Trump succeed where globalist elites have failed. Instead of celebrating potential peace, they’re peddling fearmongering to protect their endless war agenda.
Under Trump and Rubio’s guidance, the State Department has been reorganized to put America First, slashing wasteful foreign aid and focusing on deals that benefit U.S. workers and security. They’ve also ramped up efforts to deter China’s aggressive expansion in our hemisphere, sending a clear message that the days of weak-kneed appeasement are over.
Rubio, as Trump’s trusted foreign policy enforcer, has been instrumental in securing a blockbuster defense deal with NATO, forcing allies to finally pay their fair share—something Trump demanded and delivered on spectacularly. Even Hillary Clinton has given Trump his flowers for this major win.
On the China front, Rubio’s Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act marked a seismic shift in U.S. policy, banning imports tied to forced labor and hitting Beijing where it hurts—their economy. Paired with Trump’s tariffs and tech restrictions, this duo is rebuilding American manufacturing and standing up to communist threats like never before.
Trump and Rubio’s pro-Israel stance has been unyielding, with Trump pushing for annexation considerations in strategic areas and backing Israel’s right to defend itself amid the Gaza conflict. No more wishy-washy diplomacy with no backbone.
Securing our borders is another cornerstone of their Americas First approach, treating it as the foreign policy priority it is by reversing the invasion enabled by previous administrations. Rubio vows every policy will be judged on whether it makes America safer and stronger, ditching the globalist handouts that drained resources.
These achievements show why the media’s desperate to paint Trump as a bully—they fear his success in ending wars and putting America back on top. The Ukraine talks are just the latest example of Trump and Rubio delivering where others dithered. As Rubio defiantly told Senate Democrats during his confirmation, “America is back,” claiming early triumphs that have the establishment scrambling.
