The book claims that Biden’s struggles were so pronounced that some footage was deemed unusable, raising questions about his campaign’s efforts to manage public perception.
Challenges in Filming Campaign Content
The book describes a specific instance where Biden’s team attempted to film a campaign video in a high school gym, designed to resemble a town hall with voters asking questions. According to the authors, “The campaign was trying to make it look like the president was out there taking off-the-cuff questions from voters in public.”
However, the event was closed to reporters, and the campaign pre-selected the questions. Despite this, Biden had “trouble” answering, leading to the footage being scrapped. While some attributed the issues to poor lighting, the book notes, “others identified Biden as the real problem.”
Similarly, when groups requested five-minute keynote videos, Biden’s team often provided one- or two-minute versions, as he “often couldn’t make it through one or two minutes without botching a line or two.”

The book also attributes Vice President Kamala Harris’s unsuccessful 2024 presidential run to Biden’s delayed exit from the race.
