Democrats have no respect for the rule of law. They will do anything for their sick agendas.
And now the Texas Attorney General’s sick to his stomach after discovering Democrats doing the unthinkable to children.
The radicalism of the modern political Left in America is almost too extreme to ponder for too long without growing seriously disturbed and frustrated. It’s not as though there’s just a few far-Left activists who are really loud, misrepresenting the Democrat Party’s foundational political agendas for 2024 and beyond. No, the Democrat Party itself now proudly promotes truly insane policies.
There are a few that are truly bonkers, abortion all the way up until birth (and sometimes after) is one of them. Open borders is, no doubt, asinine. So-called “wealth taxes” that are now more than common in high-profile Democrat circles threatens the future of American prosperity in the name of “economic equality.” There’s a whole host of them.
But there’s one that’s so sinister it’s impossible to linger on for too long without getting sick to your stomach. That’s the targeting of minors with an LGBTQIA+ (soon it’ll be the whole alphabet) agenda, with a heavy emphasis on the “transgender” aspect of it all.
Democrats have made it extremely clear that they want minors to be subjected to experimental drugs known as “puberty blockers” even though the minors have no medical condition that would warrant the prescription of such drugs.
Several Republican-led states have passed legislation to prevent minors from being subjected to these dangerous medical “treatments” that are supposed to be “gender-affirming.” Most Americans, however, don’t believe minors remotely know what it means to be “transgender” and therefore can’t consent to this nonsense.
Texas is one of these states, naturally, as one of the most conservative states in the entire country. Late in 2023, Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed bill SB 14 to prevent any medical professionals from giving any minors treatment that is for supposed “gender transitioning” purposes.
Apparently Democrats don’t care about the rule of law at all, because the latest reports indicate that big city Democrats in Texas are blatantly ignoring the new law and trying to give minors these experimental drugs anyway.
Ken Paxton, the Texas attorney general, is warning the leaders of Austin of potential consequences for their defiance of state law, which forbids healthcare providers from administering irreversible transgender medical procedures to minors.
The Austin City Council recently passed a resolution aimed at safeguarding transgender minors, instructing law enforcement not to prioritize enforcing SB 14 — a law signed by Governor Greg Abbott banning hormonal and surgical interventions for minors’ gender transitions. Paxton, a Republican, has stated that if Austin doesn’t comply with the law, his office will explore all available options to ensure compliance, emphasizing that Texas municipalities cannot selectively adhere to state laws.
Paxton has made it clear that he’s prepared to take action against any locality adopting ordinances or policies facilitating puberty blockers, cross-s*x hormones, or surgeries for children diagnosed with so-called “gender dysphoria.”
“If the City of Austin refuses to follow the law and protect children, my office will consider every possible response to ensure compliance,” Mr. Paxton said in the aftermath of the resolution that passed in the city of Austin.
Councilmember Jose “Chito” Vela, the resolution’s main sponsor, argued that SB 14 was driving transgender minors into hiding and asserted that Austin shouldn’t contribute to that situation any more than legally necessary.
The resolution contends that “gender-affirming” medical procedures are crucial for at-risk youth, citing leading medical organizations without providing specific supporting research. However, recent internal documents from the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), one of the cited organizations, raised concerns about the risks associated with pushing children into gender transitions.
Despite lacking scientific evidence, some medical organizations have aligned with far-Left activist positions on transgender procedures, drawing criticism for disregarding potential negative impacts on mental health. A recent Finnish study challenged the belief that gender transitions improve mental health, highlighting rare instances of suicides among gender-dysphoric youth, often linked to underlying mental health issues rather than gender dysphoria alone.
De-transitioners — individuals who regret their gender transitions — have started sharing their stories, underscoring the life-altering consequences of rushed gender transitions during adolescence. Texas, among a few conservative states, has imposed restrictions on transgender procedures for minors due to their experimental nature and significant side effects, especially for distressed teenagers.
Furthermore, a recent study that was completed over the course of years out of the U.K. discovered that there’s very little evidence that prescribing puberty blockers to minors who say they are “transgender” actually helps their mental health at all. Not only that, but it’s not quite known what the long-term impact of these drugs on minors who should be undergoing puberty will be.
The U.S. is now uniquely facing criticism on this issue as a whole host of European countries have already pumped the brakes on this LGBT agenda being pushed onto youth.
