Joe Biden has made this country weaker. And now we’re reaping the whirlwind.
And the Pentagon is on lockdown after America came under a devastating attack.
Iranian-backed militants in the Middle East murdered three U.S. servicemen and injured dozens more in a drone attack.
The latest terrorist attack against U.S. personnel in the Middle East marks the 159th attack since mid-October.
“On Jan. 28, three U.S. service members were killed and 25 injured from a one-way attack [Unmanned Aircraft System] that impacted at a base in northeast Jordan, near the Syria border,” U.S. Central Command said in a statement.
“As a matter of respect for the families and in accordance with DoD policy, the identities of the servicemembers will be withheld until 24 hours after their next of kin have been notified.”
According to Reuters, at least 34 soldiers are being tested for probable traumatic brain injuries.
In a second statement, President Joe Biden said that the attack was “carried out by radical Iran-backed militant groups operating in Syria and Iraq.”
“And have no doubt — we will hold all those responsible to account at a time and in a manner our choosing,” President Joe Biden stated.
Foreign policy analysts blamed the attack on Biden’s inability to respond to America’s opponents.
“This is as enraging as it was predictable. Biden’s strategy for dealing with Iran’s proxies is to respond with half measures out of a fear of escalation,” said Rebeccah Heinrichs, senior fellow at Hudson Institute and the director of its Keystone Defense Initiative.
“It is analogous to giving a rampaging mass murderer warning shots rather than trying to eliminate him. It won’t stop him, will enrage and embolden him, and lead to more escalation, and tragically- at the expense of American lives.”
In the aftermath, U.S. Senators have been pushing for a strong response.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) was the most blunt in outlining what he believes the United States should do in response.
“I am calling on the Biden Administration to strike targets of significance inside Iran, not only as reprisal for the killing of our forces, but as deterrence against future aggression,” he said, later adding: “Hit Iran now. Hit them hard.”
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) stated that Biden’s weakness was “again measured in American lives.”
“We cannot afford to keep responding to this violent aggression with hesitation and half-measures,” he said. “The entire world now watches for signs that the President is finally prepared to exercise American strength to compel Iran to change its behavior. Our enemies are emboldened. And they will remain so until the United States imposes serious, crippling costs – not only on front-line terrorist proxies, but on their Iranian sponsors who wear American blood as a badge of honor.”
“Target Tehran,” stated Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), adding that he specifically wants the United States to target the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the IRGC’s Quds Force.
“Joe Biden emboldened Iran for years by tolerating attacks on our troops, bribing the ayatollahs with billions of dollars, and appeasing them to no end,” said Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR).
“He left our troops as sitting ducks and now three are dead and dozens wounded, sadly as I’ve predicted would happen for months. The only answer to these attacks must be devastating military retaliation against Iran’s terrorist forces, both in Iran and across the Middle East.”
