The chaos in California has been all over the news. Many Americans want answers as to how this all happened.
And the Trump admin just discovered who’s been behind the LA riots and funding them all along.
Communist Group with China Ties Fuels Anti-ICE Protests
The Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL), a self-proclaimed Communist revolutionary organization with ties to a China-linked Marxist funding network, has emerged as a central force in orchestrating nationwide protests against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations. These demonstrations, aimed at thwarting the Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration, have escalated into violent riots in Los Angeles, prompting a robust federal and state response to restore order.
PSL, which openly advocates for the overthrow of the American system and expresses solidarity with authoritarian Communist regimes, has been a driving force behind anti-ICE protests not only in Los Angeles but also in cities across the United States. The group’s activities have drawn scrutiny for their ties to a financial network led by Marxist businessman Neville Roy Singham, raising questions about the influence of foreign-linked ideologies in domestic unrest.
In Los Angeles, the protests took a chaotic turn, leading President Donald Trump to activate elements of the California National Guard to quell the violence. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that Marines from Camp Pendleton were deployed “to restore order” in the city, a move seen as critical to stabilizing a volatile situation.
“Stop the raids! National Guard OUT of LA!” PSL declared in a lengthy Sunday statement. “The National Guard deployment is a desperate attempt to intimidate people out of exercising their First Amendment rights. If they can get away with it in Los Angeles, then that will only embolden the Trump administration to use greater and greater repressive force all across the country, against any expression of dissent regardless of the issue in question. For those who believe in immigrant rights, for those who believe in democracy, for the entire working class — now is the time to take to the streets in protest!”
President Trump, responding to the unrest, took to Truth Social on Tuesday to defend the deployment. “If I didn’t ‘SEND IN THE TROOPS’ to Los Angeles the last three nights, that once beautiful and great City would be burning to the ground right now,” he wrote, emphasizing the necessity of decisive action to protect public safety.
PSL’s activism extends beyond street protests. The group has launched a “Don’t Open for ICE” campaign, distributed in both English and Spanish, which urges resistance to immigration enforcement. “Don’t let Trump and ICE win without a fight! Papers or not, everyone has certain rights they can use when an agent is trying to deport them. We are workers with dignity and we deserve to stay where we are,” the campaign materials state.
The financial backbone of PSL’s operations is linked to Neville Roy Singham, a wealthy Marxist who sold his tech company, ThoughtWorks, in 2017 and has since funneled funds into global Communist initiatives. Singham, described as a “comrade” by the People’s Forum—a New York-based Marxist group with close ties to PSL—has provided significant financial support to organizations promoting revolutionary ideologies.
The Problematic People’s Forum
The People’s Forum, which calls itself “a movement incubator for working class and marginalized communities to build unity across historic lines of division at home and abroad,” has been a key player in backing protests, including the illegal encampments at Columbia University and demonstrations for Mahmoud Khalil, as reported by Just the News.
“We are united in our belief that capitalism — the system in which all wealth and power is held by a tiny group of billionaires and their state — is the source of the main problems confronting humanity today,” PSL states on its website. “It must be replaced by socialism.”
PSL’s organizational reach is extensive, with dozens of chapters nationwide mobilizing to oppose the Trump administration’s immigration policies. In Los Angeles, the group played a pivotal role in organizing weekend protests, with Los Angeles Times photographs showing signs produced by PSL waved by demonstrators.
“The people of Los Angeles and surrounding areas have taken a courageous stand against Trump’s reign of terror targeting immigrant families. In response, the administration has falsely labeled those taking to the streets in protest of the brutal war on immigrants as ‘rioters’ and called in thousands of National Guard soldiers for a crackdown,” PSL stated on Monday. “But the people are not deterred — in Los Angeles and across the country, protest is continuing with even more determination. This could be a turning point where the entire working class unites to push back Trump’s efforts to shred our basic rights and dignity.”
On social media, PSL has been vocal, tweeting on Friday that “thousands march in Los Angeles against a blitz of multiple ICE raids” and sharing videos of the demonstrations. By Sunday, the group escalated its rhetoric, posting about “MASS MOBILIZATION. ICE OUT OF LA. NATIONAL GUARD GO AWAY” and organizing a protest outside LA City Hall.
The group’s social media posts continued to amplify the protests, with captions stating, “The people continue to righteously stand up for justice for immigrant communities in the face of growing state repression! … Thousands in Los Angeles have made clear that they will continue to stand up for immigrant families against deportations, even in the face of growing repression!” PSL also highlighted demonstrators halting traffic to “send the Trump administration a powerful message.”
Beyond Los Angeles, PSL has organized or supported anti-ICE protests in cities such as San Francisco, Sacramento, Fresno, Austin, Houston, Cleveland, Columbus, Providence, Chicago, and Washington, D.C. Breitbart News reported that PSL-organized protests in San Antonio featured signs identical to those used in Los Angeles, indicating a coordinated effort.
Media reports have also noted PSL’s involvement in protests in Dallas, Waco, Louisville, Raleigh, and upcoming demonstrations planned in Richmond and Anchorage. The group’s ability to mobilize across states reflects its organizational strength and commitment to disrupting immigration enforcement.
The Trump administration’s immigration crackdown, dubbed Operation Tidal Wave, has been a focal point of PSL’s ire. Coordinated with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, the operation has drawn praise from supporters for its focus on enforcing immigration laws. “I’ve insisted that Florida be the tip of the spear when it comes to state support of federal immigration enforcement,” DeSantis said in May. “The success of Operation Tidal Wave is proof of our commitment.”
PSL’s ties to Singham’s network extend to other Marxist groups, including the People’s Forum, BreakThrough News, and the Justice and Education Fund. The Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI) reported last year that PSL “shares considerable fiscal and personnel connections” with these organizations, highlighting the interconnected nature of Singham’s funding network.
People’s Forumn Ties To Communism
The People’s Forum, known for its pro-Communist and anti-Israel stance, has produced materials promoting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and has collaborated with PSL on various initiatives. In March, the forum tagged PSL in a post about protests for Mahmoud Khalil and Palestinian causes, highlighting their shared goals.
Brian Becker, a founding member of PSL and a national organizer for the ANSWER Coalition, is a prominent figure in this network. Listed as an instructor at the People’s Forum, Becker has taught courses on Leninism and the Communist Manifesto. “What part of Marx’s diagnosis of capitalism is not correct?” he asked rhetorically on Twitter in 2023, encapsulating the ideological fervor driving these groups.
Claudia De La Cruz, PSL’s 2024 presidential nominee and a co-founder of the People’s Forum, further ties the organizations together. Tax records confirm her leadership roles in both entities, illustrating the deep integration within Singham’s network.
BreakThrough News, founded by PSL’s Ben Becker in 2020, serves as a media arm for these efforts, often echoing PSL’s anti-ICE messaging. NCRI noted that BreakThrough’s leadership is dominated by PSL members, including De La Cruz and other key figures who have run as PSL candidates in past elections.
The Heritage Foundation has described the ANSWER Coalition, another Singham-funded group, as a front for PSL, highlighting the intricate web of financial and organizational ties. The People’s Forum and BreakThrough News share a New York City address, further evidencing their close collaboration.
PSL’s revolutionary agenda is explicit in its platform, which declares, “Capitalism cannot be voted out of power — it will take a revolution.” The group’s opposition to U.S. foreign policy, including calls to end sanctions on countries like Cuba and Iran and to dismantle NATO, is just a part of its anti-American sentiment.
The group’s Liberation School offers courses on Marxist theory and celebrates figures like Lenin, while praising the Chinese Communist Party’s historical takeover. “Victory would have been unimaginable without the existence of the Chinese Communist Party and the extraordinary military it created, the People’s Liberation Army,” PSL’s website states.
PSL’s merchandise store reflects its ideology, selling items like Paul Robeson t-shirts and posters featuring Communist symbols and figures like Nguyen Thi Binh, a Vietnamese Communist leader. The group’s defense of the Hamas attacks on October 7, 2023, and its association with Elias Rodriguez, who m*rdered two Israeli Embassy staff members, have further fueled concerns about its extremist ties.
Attorney General Pamela Bondi condemned Rodriguez’s actions, stating, “This brutal, anti-Semitic violence has no place in our country or anywhere in civilization.” PSL has denied any current association with Rodriguez, tweeting on May 22, “We reject any attempt to associate the PSL with the DC shooting.”
Singham’s role in this network is pivotal. His marriage to Code Pink co-founder Jodie Evans and his reported ties to the CCP, including work with Huawei and attendance at CCP workshops, have raised alarms. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has urged investigations into Singham’s activities, citing potential CCP influence.
