U.S. politics is getting hotter and hotter. It’s reaching a boiling point.
And now a threat lobbed at a U.S. Senator has plunged Washington, D.C. into crisis mode.
As conflicts in the Middle East continue to drive a rift between Democrats in the United States, Rep. Jared Moskowitz, D-Fla., criticized Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., for his demand to make Israeli funding conditional on its actions in Gaza.
Sanders, a Democrat, issued a press release over the weekend calling on President Biden to demand that Israel freeze new West Bank settlement construction and lift its siege of the Gaza Strip before receiving any U.S. aid.
Moskowitz stated that he would attempt to get those limitations removed from the bill before it reached the House or impose even harsher restrictions on aid to Gaza if it did make it there.
“I am absolutely for humanitarian aid to Gaza. But if Bernie Sanders puts political requirements on the Aid to Israel, I will work in the House to remove those conditions or condition Aid to Gaza that requires the removal of Hamas,” Moskowitz wrote on X (formerly Twitter) recently.
“Let’s not play this game. Send the aid to both,” Moskowitz warned.
On October 7th, Hamas terrorists sneaked into southern Israel and k*lled almost 1,400 people, most of whom were civilians.
Israel has reacted violently, launching airstrikes against Gaza and launching a land invasion. Over the weekend, the Hamas-led administration in Gaza said that 13,000 people had died in the territory since October 7.
Israel has become a flashpoint in the already tense relationship between emerging so-called “progressives” and the old guard in the Democratic Party.
The resolution denouncing antisemitism and support for Hamas on college campuses was voted down earlier this month by more than 20 far-left Democratic representatives who defected from their party. A comparable number of centrist Democrats later joined Republicans to condemn Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MICH), over her views regarding the war.
“The Netanyahu government, or hopefully a new Israeli government, must understand that not one penny will be coming to Israel from the U.S. unless there is a fundamental change in their military and political positions,” Sanders said over the weekend on X.

New York Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez supported the motion for contingent assistance. “Conditioning aid to Israel, as we do with virtually all other US allies, is a responsible course of action,” she stated during her speech.
“The United States has a legal and moral responsibility to ensure that public resources do not facilitate gross violations of human rights and international law,” stated Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Of course, it’s always a good thing for support in the form of U.S. taxpayer dollars going to any foreign entity to be qualified.
That’s why conservatives have been calling for the taxpayer dollars making its way to Ukraine to be tracked, and yet the Democrats have been stiff arming those measures since the war broke out.
The real reason some Democrats like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders want to “qualify” the support for Israel is because they don’t actually want to support Israel at all.
The new radical Leftist “progressive” wing of the Democrat Party that has rapidly started to take over the party doesn’t even believe that Israel has a right to the land that the Israeli government owns.
They believe it’s “stolen” land that actually originally belonged to the Palestinian people, which is simply historically false.
Unfortunately, disdain for the Jewish people is alive and well from within the Democrat Party.
