Tim Walz rocked with a call to resign from this leading Trump official

Walz has had a rough go ever since the 2024 election. He’s never been able to fully land on his feet.

And Tim Walz has been rocked with a call to resign from this leading Trump official.

Education Secretary Linda McMahon has unleashed a scathing demand for Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to step down immediately, blasting his administration for allowing rampant fraud to bleed millions from hardworking taxpayers’ pockets. In a no-holds-barred letter sent straight to Walz, McMahon laid out how his sloppy governance since taking office in 2019 has turned the state’s education system into a magnet for crooks, particularly those hailing from Somalia.

McMahon charged that Walz’s “careless lack of oversight and abuse of the welfare system has attracted fraudsters from around the world, especially from Somalia.” This isn’t just petty theft—it’s a full-blown assault on American families who foot the bill for college aid.

The heart of the scandal? A whopping 1,834 “ghost students” who pocketed $12.5 million in grants and loans funded by taxpayers.

Given this mess, McMahon declared Walz guilty of “dereliction of the office entrusted” to him, urging him to “resign and make way for more capable leadership.” It’s a bold move that puts the spotlight on Democratic failures in blue states like Minnesota.

The letter pulls back the curtain on how this scam exploded. “At the beginning of this year, the U.S. Department of Education became aware that fraudulent college applicants, especially concentrated in Minnesota, were gaming the federal postsecondary education system to collect money that was intended for young Americans to help them afford college,” McMahon wrote.

She broke it down further: “We call these fraudsters ‘ghost students’ because they were not ID-verified and often did not live in the United States, or they simply did not exist. In Minnesota, 1,834 ghost students were found to have received $12.5 million in taxpayer-funded grants and loans. They collected checks from the federal government, shared a small portion of the money with the college, and pocketed the rest — without attending the college at all.”

But McMahon and her team aren’t sitting idle. “To stop ghost students, we at the Department of Education implemented enhanced fraud controls such as mandatory identity verification for certain first-time student applicants.”

“Our new fraud prevention system has now blocked more than $1 billion in attempted financial aid theft by fraudsters, including coordinated international fraud rings and AI bots pretending to be students.”

The letter takes a sharp turn toward one of Minnesota’s own, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, accusing her of trying to game the system too.

“Even one of your state’s top elected officials, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, has sought to take advantage of the federal taxpayer by advocating for broad student debt cancellation — which she has publicly acknowledged will benefit her directly. She borrowed tens of thousands of dollars to attend college as a politics major that she now does not think she should have to repay, despite her generous, taxpayer-funded salary.”

This call for Walz’s ouster isn’t echoing in a vacuum. A grassroots petition on Change.org is gaining steam, racking up about 4,491 signatures demanding the resignations of Walz, Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan, Attorney General Keith Ellison, and Secretary of State Steve Simon—all Minnesota Democrats who’ve overseen this chaos.

The petition pulls no punches, insisting that “it is time for new leadership that can deliver on promises and rebuild the connection between government and its constituents.”

Adding fuel to the fire, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent dropped a bombshell on Friday, revealing plans for a “Geographic Targeting Order (GTO)” to crack down on shady Money Services Businesses. This comes amid alarming reports that Minnesota’s taxpayer dollars might have funneled straight to the terrorist group Al-Shabaab through the state’s Somali community.

Bessent made it official on X: “Treasury will soon issue a Geographic Targeting Order (GTO) subjecting certain Money Services Businesses (MSBs) to enhanced reporting requirements with FinCEN.”

He emphasized that “this important tool will be used to make sure information regarding such illicit activity is quickly reported to @FinCENnews and made available to our law enforcement partners.”

The scrutiny doesn’t stop there. Breitbart News highlighted that the Department of Labor is now digging into Minnesota’s Unemployment Insurance program following exposés of a fraud ring exploiting the state’s welfare setup.

As the federal government tightens the screws, it’s high time for voters to demand accountability from leaders like Walz, who seem more interested in virtue-signaling than protecting the public purse.

With petitions swelling and investigations mounting, the pressure is on—will Walz bow out, or dig in deeper?
