The race for the White House is heating up. And Biden’s part to play may be over.
Because a top Democrat slammed Biden and called for a replacement in an unprecedented betrayal.
Jon Stewart returned to The Daily Show on Monday night and wasted no time before criticizing both President Biden and former President Donald Trump in a caustic monologue focusing on their elderly years.
“What the f—k are we doing here, people?” Stewart fumed over the current situation of the 2024 presidential election, which is expected to be a rematch between Biden, 81, and Trump, 77.
Stewart, who returned to the talk show after a nine-year break, attacked both candidates’ mental capacity and slammed those who don’t question Biden’s ability to lead the country as an octogenarian.
The comedian launched his scorching 20-minute address with the “big news” of the weekend: the special counsel’s report on the president’s handling of sensitive documents.
“This guy couldn’t remember stuff during his deposition,” Stewart said of Biden. “You understand what that means? He had no ability to recall very basic things under questioning.”
He also chastised Biden for wrongly referring to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi as Mexico’s president during a press conference.
“Joe Biden had a big press conference to dispel the notion that he may have lost a step and politically speaking lost three to four steps,” claimed Stewart.
Stewart did not mince words about Trump’s age, claiming that the Republican frequently says things at rallies that would require a wellness check.
“They are objectively old!” he said of the two 2024 contenders. “They are at the age where there are no more age-related milestones to hit. They got their AARP cards, they got Social Security, they got their movie discounts …”
“We have two candidates who are chronologically outside the norm of anyone who has run for the presidency in this country in the history of this country,” Stewart said. “They are the oldest people ever to run for president — breaking by only four years the record that they set!”
The comedian stated that by focusing on their aging bodies and minds, he is not implying that neither White House candidate is “vibrant, productive, or even capable.”
“They’re both stretching the limits of being able to handle the toughest job in the world,” he said of Biden and Trump.
“What’s crazy is thinking that we are the ones as voters who must silence concerns and criticisms. It is the candidates’ job to assuage concerns, not the voters’ job not to mention [them].”
Stewart, who normally leans Left, spent much of his monologue disputing Democrats’ evidence that Biden is as brilliant and quick-witted as they claim.
“But the stakes of this election don’t make Donald Trump’s opponent less subject to scrutiny,” Stewart said.
Of course, Stewart is a liberal at heart and suffers from Trump Derangement Syndrome, so he’ll hate on Trump all day.
But his tirade against Biden is unprecedented from a Democrat – especially less than a year from the election.
