The chaos is already setting in for Trump and his allies. His enemies are up to no good.
That’s why this bombshell Trump impeachment news has raised eyebrows all across Washington, D.C.
Left-Wing Groups Fund ‘Free Speech’ Organization Advocating for Trump’s Impeachment
A coalition of Left-wing organizations has funneled substantial funding into Free Speech For People (FSFP), a legal nonprofit group that has actively campaigned for the impeachment of former President Donald Trump. According to tax records obtained by reporters, these groups have poured over $1 million into FSFP since 2019, furthering their efforts to challenge Trump’s presidency.
FSFP, which has been vocal about disqualifying Trump from appearing on the 2024 ballot, launched a fresh campaign just days after his second-term inauguration on January 20, 2025. The organization immediately called for the impeachment of Trump, citing alleged violations of the Emoluments Clause of the U.S. Constitution and accusations of unlawful, corrupt behavior related to his 2024 campaign.
“BREAKING: We have just launched a new campaign calling for an impeachment inquiry against Donald Trump for offenses he has already committed upon taking the oath,” FSFP President John Bonifaz tweeted on January 20, 2025, announcing the group’s latest initiative. The campaign advocates for an investigation into the possibility of impeachment based on actions Trump is accused of having already undertaken, with potential for expanding the inquiry if further offenses occur.

Major Donors Back Impeachment Efforts
Among the organizations backing FSFP financially are some of the most influential Left-wing groups in the United States. The Tides Foundation, a key player in the broader Tides philanthropic network, has been a significant supporter of FSFP, contributing nearly $1 million since 2019. The Tides Foundation is known for supporting various progressive causes, from climate justice to empowering women of color. In fact, the foundation provided grants totaling $925,816 to FSFP in 2020, 2022, and 2023 alone.
Additionally, the Hopewell Fund, part of the Arabella Advisors network — a major hub for Left-wing philanthropy — also contributed to FSFP’s efforts, granting $20,000 in 2023. The Hopewell Fund is a nonprofit that manages funds for liberal causes, often under the guidance of Arabella Advisors, a consulting firm founded by Clinton administration veteran Eric Kessler.
A former anti-Trump organization, Need to Impeach, founded by billionaire environmentalist Tom Steyer, has also been linked to FSFP. In 2019, Need to Impeach donated $100,000 to the group to further their common goal of impeaching Trump during his first term in office. Although Need to Impeach ceased operations after Trump’s first impeachment, its financial legacy continues to impact FSFP’s activities.
Further financial backing has come from groups such as Public Wise, which supports progressive policies like felon enfranchisement and automatic voter registration. Public Wise contributed $125,000 in grants to FSFP in 2022 and 2023. Likewise, the Threshold Foundation, which focuses on social and environmental justice, routed nearly $170,000 to FSFP between 2020 and 2023.
Lastly, Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors (RPA), a leading global philanthropic organization, provided a $10,000 grant to FSFP in 2021. RPA is known for funding initiatives related to race, gender, climate change, and criminal justice reform.
FSFP’s Impeachment Call
According to FSFP’s website, the group is calling on Congress to initiate an impeachment inquiry into Trump for actions he has already taken and for any future offenses he may commit. “Congress must also be prepared to expand its investigation if Trump undertakes any of the other impeachable actions that he has threatened to carry out,” the website reads.
Despite being impeached twice during his first term, Trump was never convicted by the Senate. FSFP’s renewed efforts reflect ongoing opposition to his presidency from certain progressive factions, who continue to seek avenues to remove him from office or prevent him from participating in future elections.
With the backing of deep-pocketed progressive donors, FSFP remains a prominent player in the Left-wing movement’s ongoing efforts to challenge Trump, even after his second term has officially begun. Whether this latest impeachment campaign will gain traction remains to be seen, but the influx of funding to FSFP signals that the effort to hold Trump accountable is far from over. Prominent radical Democrats have been drumming up support for impeachment of Donald Trump without any grounds to do so.
