Not much is known about how the Trump rally shooting happened. The new details are disturbing.
And the news of what the shooter did just before firing at the president is absolutely crazy.
Trump Shooter Encounter With Law Enforcement Prior to Firing on Trump
In a dramatic turn of events at a Pennsylvania rally, former President Donald Trump narrowly escaped an assassination attempt, thanks to the vigilance of law enforcement. The Associated Press reported on Sunday that a police officer had a tense encounter with shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks just moments before Crooks opened fire.
Sources from law enforcement, who requested anonymity, described the intense situation. Crooks had ascended to the roof of a building overlooking the rally. When an officer climbed up to investigate, Crooks aimed his rifle at him, forcing the officer to retreat. Crooks then directed his weapon towards Trump and fired.
The alarm was initially raised by rally-goers who noticed a man scaling the building near the event. Their quick thinking led to the police intervention, as confirmed by the two law enforcement officials who spoke with the AP.

The aftermath of the shooting saw Trump sustaining a wound to his ear. Despite the injury, Trump managed to signal to the crowd by raising his fist before Secret Service agents whisked him off the stage, a moment captured on video.
The attack had deadly consequences. Corey Comperatore, a former volunteer fire chief, was fatally shot, and two others were critically injured during the incident.
Butler County Sheriff Michael T. Slupe provided additional details to The Washington Post, emphasizing the officer’s encounter with Crooks just before the shots were fired at Trump.
Further insights came from a witness who spoke to BBC News. He described how he had tried to alert the police about the suspicious activity on the rooftop. The witness recalled seeing a man with a rifle and attempting to convey the urgency to the police, who initially seemed confused.
“They didn’t know what was going on,” the witness shared with BBC News reporters. “We’re like, ‘hey, right here on the roof, we can see him from right here! We can see him.’”
So Many Questions, So Few Answers As Suspicion Builds Amongst Americans
There are growing concerns that there was either a major breach in security fueled by gross negligence on the part of Secret Service, whose primary objective is to ensure the safety of the former president and whatever event he attends.
Those who work in security know that one of the first things you evaluate when trying to secure an area for a major event for a VIP is to consider any possible vantage point a shooter would have to wreak havoc. Rooftops that have a clear view of a VIP are the number one issue that they are supposed to address.
And yet, somehow they just let a man walk up onto a roof and the shooter is able to take his shot and then is immediately taken down by Secret Service who had eyes on him for a period of time before the suspect started firing at the former president. That’s a hard pill to swallow.
No one is reasonably assuming there was any fix or set up of Donald Trump on the part of the Secret Service. There’s no evidence of that at this time. However, the American people are left with a bunch of facts about the tragedy that simply don’t make sense.
Florida’s Governor, Ron DeSantis, shared on Twitter (also known as X) skepticism that the investigations into the shooting are going to get to the bottom of what actually took place. He argues that the federal government and “DC bureaucratic class” is going to ignore their responsibility to the American people.
Biden tells us to trust the bureaucracy to investigate the assassin’s motive.
But the feds categorized the crazed, leftist congressional baseball shooter as “suicide by cop” — even though the shooter had a well-documented left-wing political bent and made sure that the players…
