The Democrat Party has been pushing lawsuit after lawsuit against Donald Trump. They’re hoping they can gum up his re-election bid long enough for him to lose.
And now Trump was hit with a major surprise from a federal judge he never saw coming.
Democrats know that Biden’s pitch to the American people that he has somehow made a booming economy and unprecedented prosperity for this country is a joke.
No one with an IQ larger than their shoe size buys into such a ridiculous claim.
In absence of a compelling reason to vote for Biden, they’ve tried to conjure up any and every reason not to vote for Donald Trump.
That’s why they’ve pushed his prosecutions to their very limits. But even they were surprised by what came next.
U.S. District Judge Aileen M. Cannon decided on Tuesday that former President Donald Trump’s classified materials trial will be postponed indefinitely due to legal concerns and timelines concerning the use of classified evidence at trial.
The former president was set to stand trial in Special Counsel Jack Smith’s federal criminal case against him in two weeks, on May 20.
Cannon, who was appointed by Trump in 2020, stated in her decision that the trial will no longer begin on May 20, but did not provide a new date.
“The Court also determines that finalization of a trial date at this juncture—before resolution of the myriad and interconnected pre-trial and [Classified Information Procedures Act] issues remaining and forthcoming—would be imprudent and inconsistent with the Court’s duty to fully and fairly consider the various pending pre-trial motions before the Court, critical CIPA issues, and additional pretrial and trial preparations necessary to present this case to a jury,” Cannon wrote.
The move threatens to delay the case by increasing the probability that it will not go to trial until after the presidential election in November.
If Trump wins, it is widely assumed that his Department of Justice will drop the prosecution.
But before you count this as a victory, keep in mind that ambiguity usually favors the Left.
What happens if this judge decides that October is the right time to put Trump on trial?
Strong-arming the Republican candidate into an extremely public criminal trial just weeks before the election could work to their favor.
On the other hand, we’ve seen the persecution of Donald Trump by liberal DAs lead to the galvanization of support for him. So, the Left could be pushing it off in hopes of weakening the Republican through a surprise.
Only time will tell.
For now, Trump is on trial in New York State for allegedly making hush money payments to an adult film star during the 2016 presidential race.
He is facing a second federal criminal case in Washington, D.C. for allegedly attempting to overturn the 2020 presidential election results.
The case is currently seeking a decision from the United States Supreme Court on whether Trump has presidential immunity from prosecution.
Trump faces a fourth criminal trial in Fulton County, Georgia, on charges that he attempted to change the 2020 election results.
