Trump’s Chief of Staff provides the nation with critical update on the President on Fox

Stephen Miller

Donald Trump has been working around the clock. Many are concerned for the President.

But Trump’s Chief of Staff just provided the nation with a key update on what’s next for the President.

Trump Eyes Tours of Crime-Plagued Cities as Crackdown Yields Results in DC

White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller appeared on Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle Thursday, suggesting President Donald Trump might visit major U.S. cities overwhelmed by violence and disorder. This comes as Trump’s aggressive law-and-order agenda takes hold in the nation’s capital, showing early successes against rampant criminality.

Host Laura Ingraham, who has long pushed for such visits, asked Miller if the president would consider touring places like Chicago or New York. Miller confirmed the idea is on the table, aligning with Trump’s vision for revitalizing American urban centers.

“That is certainly something that he would consider,” Miller said. “The president is committed to the idea [that] our cities should be great, our cities should be safe, the parks should be beautiful, the schools should be amazing, the sidewalks should be pristine. All of those things are possible if you just take the city back from the drug addicts, the vagrants, the criminal gangs, and the hoodlums. This is a doable thing. This is achievable. President Trump is proving it in Washington, D.C.”

Miller highlighted the dangers posed by Democrat-led policies in states like California, where sanctuary laws shield criminals from deportation. He pointed to Governor Gavin Newsom’s refusal to cooperate with federal authorities, allowing dangerous individuals back into communities.

“Here’s one more point,” Miller added. “There are 30,000, think about this, there are 30,000 criminal illegal aliens right now in custody in California that are in state and local custody that are going to be set free by Gavin Newsom that they are refusing to turn over to ICE. In other words, they’re illegal aliens. They were arrested for committing state and local crimes. ICE said, ‘Turn them over to us so we can deport them.’ The California government has refused, so all 30,000 are going to be set free back onto the street to r*pe, m*im, and m*rder. Think about that.”

Trump’s move to deploy the National Guard in Washington, D.C., on August 11 followed a series of high-profile attacks that exposed the failure of local Democrat leadership. Invoking Section 40 of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, the president aimed to restore safety amid incidents like the brutal assault on a former Department of Government Efficiency staffer and the June 30 fatal shooting of Republican intern Eric Tarpinian-Jachym.

Democrats and mainstream media outlets have claimed a 35% drop in D.C.’s crime rate for 2024, but those figures conveniently exclude serious offenses like felonies and aggravated assaults. An investigation into D.C. police Commander Michael Pulliam for allegedly manipulating statistics further undermines their narrative, as reported by NBC Washington.

Despite the criticism from left-wing figures, a Harvard CAPS/Harris poll this week shows 54% of registered voters view Trump’s D.C. crime-fighting measures as justified and necessary. This public support highlights growing frustration with soft-on-crime approaches in Democrat-run cities.

In Chicago, officials like Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and Mayor Brandon Johnson held a press conference Monday to oppose any federal intervention. Pritzker directly urged Trump against sending troops, while Johnson touted supposed reductions in local crime data.

ABC7 Chicago reports homicides down 25% through August 16 compared to 2023, with 474 k*llings over the past 12 months against a 2021-2023 average of 722. Yet these numbers fail to address the persistent gang violence and lawlessness that plague the Windy City under years of Democrat control.

New York City Democrats have mixed messages, praising lower overall crime while quietly acknowledging the National Guard’s potential role. Reports indicate declines in m*rders and burglaries, but the New York Post exposed years of underreported r*pes distorting NYPD statistics, with 517 cases in the second quarter of 2025 versus 448 the year before.

U.S. Attorney for Washington, D.C., Jeanine Pirro announced Monday that the federal operation has resulted in 1,007 arrests and the seizure of 111 illegal firearms, demonstrating tangible progress in just weeks.

Trump’s current efforts build on his first-term successes, such as Operation Legend, which surged federal agents into high-crime areas like Chicago and Kansas City to target violent offenders and gangs. Launched in 2020, the initiative led to thousands of arrests and the removal of illegal weapons, proving federal involvement can swiftly curb urban decay when local leaders fall short.

During his 2024 campaign, Trump vowed to unleash law enforcement, end sanctuary cities, and impose tough penalties on criminals, including restoring the death penalty for certain m*rders in D.C. His executive orders have empowered police to focus on pursuing offenders without the constraints of radical leftist policies that prioritize criminals over victims.

As crime stats in Democrat strongholds continue to reveal manipulated declines amid real suffering, Trump’s strategy offers a blueprint for reclaiming America’s streets, with residents in affected areas already reporting safer neighborhoods thanks to his decisive action.
