The President has been bumping heads with the media for years. He needs someone who won’t put up with their antics.
And now Trump’s White House Press Secretary just went toe to toe with the fake news media.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt wasted no time setting the tone for the Trump administration’s second term, delivering a fiery warning to reporters: push lies or misinformation about President Donald Trump, and you will be held accountable.
During the first press briefing on Tuesday, Leavitt made it clear that this administration won’t tolerate the media’s usual antics. She assured the American people that she is committed “to telling the truth from this podium every single day” and challenged the reporters in the room to do the same — something the Left-wing press has consistently failed to do.
“I commit to speaking on behalf of the President of the United States, that is my job,” Leavitt stated firmly. “And I will say, it’s very easy to speak truth from this podium when you have a president who is implementing policies that are wildly popular with the American people, and that’s exactly what this administration is doing.”
Then came the hammer.
“It’s correcting the lies and the wrongs of the past four years, many of the lies that have been told to your faces in this very briefing room,” she continued.
“I will not do that, but since you brought up truth … I would like to point out, while I vow to provide the truth from this podium, we ask that all of you in this room hold yourselves to that same standard.”
Leavitt didn’t stop there. She called out the corrupt media machine that has spent years smearing Trump and his family with falsehoods, warning them that their usual games won’t fly in this White House.
“We know for a fact there have been lies that have been pushed by many legacy media outlets in this country about this president, about his family, and we will not accept that,” she declared.
“We will call you out when we feel that your reporting is wrong or there is misinformation about this White House. So yes, I will hold myself to the truth and I expect everyone in this room to do the same.”
The reaction to Leavitt’s takedown of the media was swift and overwhelmingly positive. Conservatives celebrated her no-nonsense approach, and it was clear she left the Left-wing press stunned.
OutKick’s Clay Travis summed it up best on X: “D*mn White House press secretary @karolineleavitt absolutely smoking left wing reporters already. Enjoy.”
Actor James Woods called Leavitt “a rock star” and predicted, “These next four years are going to be sublime. Never thought I would say this, but I’m going to miss seeing Jim Acosta being her piñata! Break out the popcorn.”
Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene couldn’t have been more pleased: “@PressSec just took a blowtorch to the media in the Press Briefing Room!”
Monica Crowley echoed the enthusiasm: “@PressSec @karolineleavitt CRUSHED her first press briefing.”
Social media was on fire with praise, as one user wrote, “@PressSec slams the fake news media for telling lies about President Trump and his family. Karoline Leavitt is absolutely crushing her first press conference.”
Another person added, “Press Secretary Leavitt just took a flame thrower to the fake news narrative and called media out for their years of lying about President Trump. Leavitt came ready to rock!”
With this opening performance, Leavitt sent an unmistakable message: the days of media dishonesty going unchecked are over. The Trump administration is back, and this time, they’re holding the press accountable.
