The Democratic Party has a truth problem, and it’s time they faced the music. For years, party leaders like Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Vice President Kamala Harris peddled a narrative that President Joe Biden was mentally sharp and fully capable of leading the nation, despite mounting evidence to the contrary. Their refusal to acknowledge Biden’s obvious decline—coupled with their insistence on pushing far-Left agendas like transgenderism—has eroded public trust and exposed a pattern of deception that demands accountability.
On a recent episode of “Talk Easy with Sam Fragoso,” podcast host Sam Fragoso grilled Sen. Warren about her steadfast defense of Biden’s mental fitness, even as late as July 2024, when Biden’s campaign imploded after a disastrous debate against President Donald Trump. Fragoso pointed out that Warren had vouched for Biden’s sharpness, asking directly, “Do you regret saying that President Biden had a mental acuity, he had a sharpness to him?”
“I said what I believed to be true,” Warren replied, doubling down on her claim. When pressed further on whether she genuinely saw no decline in Biden from 2021 to 2024, she insisted, “I said I had not seen decline. And I hadn’t at that point.” This response strains credulity, given the public’s growing concerns and Biden’s visible struggles.
Fragoso wasn’t buying it. “You know, the thing is, he — look, he was sharp. He was on his feet,” Warren said, attempting to justify her stance. “I saw him [at a] live event. I had meetings with him a couple of times.” Fragoso shot back, “Senator, ‘on his feet’ is not praise. ‘He can speak in sentences’ is not praise.” Warren, cornered, could only muster a weak “fair enough” in response, twice conceding the point.
This exchange lays bare a deeper issue: Democrats have been gaslighting the American people. Warren’s refusal to admit what was plain to millions—Biden’s cognitive decline—was not an isolated incident. Former Vice President Kamala Harris, who replaced Biden as the Democratic nominee in July 2024, also denied any cognitive issues, even after taking his place. This coordinated denial suggests a deliberate effort to obscure the truth for political gain.
The corporate media played a complicit role in this deception. For years, outlets dismissed legitimate concerns about Biden’s mental fitness as Republican talking points or voter paranoia. Former NBC News chief political analyst Chuck Todd admitted as much on “Piers Morgan Uncensored” on April 9, 2025. “The only thing I can chalk it up to is this, whatever you want to call it, this fear that some members of the media had sometimes — that they would be perceived as helping Trump if they somehow diminished Biden,” Todd said. This fear, he argued, led to a “fundamental mistake” by the press, which avoided candid coverage of Biden’s age-related issues.
Voters weren’t fooled. Long before Biden’s 2024 debate debacle, Americans expressed doubts about his ability to serve. Republicans had raised alarms since the 2020 campaign, pointing to Biden’s frequent gaffes and moments of confusion. Yet Democrats and their media allies brushed these concerns aside, accusing critics of bad faith while painting Biden as a vigorous leader. The debate performance shattered this facade, forcing the party to confront a reality they had long denied.

But Biden’s health isn’t the only area where Democrats have been less than forthcoming. The party’s embrace of far-Left agendas, particularly on issues like transgenderism, has alienated many Americans who see these policies as disconnected from common sense. From promoting gender-affirming care for minors to advocating for biological males in women’s sports, Democrats have pushed ideas that clash with the values of everyday voters. Rather than engaging in honest debate, they’ve often labeled dissenters as bigots, further eroding trust.
This pattern of obfuscation—whether about Biden’s fitness or radical policy priorities—reveals a party more concerned with power than truth. By refusing to level with the public, Democrats have fueled skepticism and division. Warren’s half-hearted concessions on Fragoso’s podcast are a microcosm of this broader failure: when pressed, she acknowledged the weakness of her defense but stopped short of admitting she misled anyone.
The consequences of this dishonesty are profound. Voters feel betrayed by a party that prioritized loyalty to a faltering leader over the needs of the country. The media’s complicity only deepens this distrust, as Americans grow weary of narratives that don’t match reality. Democrats must reckon with the damage they’ve done by propping up Biden’s image and pushing divisive agendas without transparency.
Moving forward, the party faces a choice: come clean or double down. Acknowledging their missteps—starting with the Biden cover-up and extending to their handling of controversial policies—could begin to rebuild credibility. But that requires humility and a willingness to engage with critics, not dismiss them. The American people deserve leaders who trust them with the truth, not ones who hide behind carefully crafted talking points.
