U.S. Supreme Court assassination perpetrator gets huge court news

Political violence is out of control. Not even Supreme Court Justices are safe.

As this U.S. Supreme Court assassination perpetrator has now received a huge court update.

A federal judge has set a trial date for next June for Nicholas Roske, the man accused of attempting to assassinate Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. The decision was made on Tuesday, marking Roske’s first court appearance in nearly two years.

Roske was arrested in June 2022 outside Kavanaugh’s Maryland home after he called 911, revealing his plan to assassinate the justice. During the hearing before U.S. District Judge Peter Messitte, Roske was reminded that he faces a potential life sentence for the felony charge of attempting to assassinate a Supreme Court justice.

The trial is scheduled to start on June 9, 2025. “Selecting a jury in this case may take a little longer,” noted Assistant U.S. Attorney Kathleen Gavin, underscoring the high-profile nature of the case.

Court records reveal that Roske expressed anger over the leak of the draft opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which ultimately led to the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Roske reportedly feared Kavanaugh would support loosening gun control laws in future Second Amendment rulings. According to a July 2022 FBI affidavit, Roske “began thinking about how to give his life a purpose and decided that he would k*ll the Supreme Court justice.”

Upon his arrest, officers confiscated various weapons and tools, including a Glock 17 pistol, ammunition, pepper spray, zip ties, and duct tape.

While discussions have taken place regarding a potential plea agreement, prosecutors noted last month that no consensus has been reached between the parties.

Political Violence On The Rise, No One Seems To Be Safe

There have been cases of political violence being perpetrated against members of the executive branch, like a sitting U.S. President. Everyone knows about the tragedies that saw Presidents Lincoln and John F. Kennedy lose their lives. Ronald Reagan almost fell prey to the same fate. Even, Donald Trump was almost a victim of such a tragedy too.

There’s been a number of U.S. Congressmembers who have fallen victim to political violence as well. Larry McDonald in the 1980s, Leo Ryan in the late 1970s, and everyone knows about Robert F. Kennedy’s tragic passing in 1968.

Usually a U.S. Supreme Court Justice is insulated from much of all that madness, but not lately. There has been growing noise leading to violence being planned against the U.S. Supreme Court Justices, and it’s hard to ignore the facts of why that is.

A number of Leftist media talking heads and radical Democrats have been claiming, without any evidence, that the U.S. Supreme Court is currently bought out by corporate billionaires who are trying to buy conservative rulings. They believe that somehow the only way that these big conservative rulings would be handed down is if there’s a conspiracy.

The Left’s rhetoric that everyone who doesn’t fall in line with their radical beliefs is a threat to peace and democracy is what causes the political violence to pop up. There’s plenty of evidence to go around of Democrats who are seemingly condoning violence against their political opponents.

The sitting U.S. Senate Majority Leader, Chuck Schumer, literally threatened the U.S. Supreme Court Justices back in 2020 at a pro-abortion rally where he said they will “pay the price” if they dared to touch Roe v. Wade.

It’s actually astonishing that Chuck Schumer never faced any consequences for making such a blatantly threatening speech targeted at the U.S. Supreme Court Justices just for disagreeing with them.

What’s sad is that even President Joe Biden did a similar thing during his State of the Union speech, in which he basically threatened them for overturning Roe v. Wade with the 2022 Dobbs decision. This was unprecedented for any sitting U.S. President to make such obviously inappropriate comments directed to the members of the Highest Court in the land.
