White House press briefing goes sideways when Fox News journalist holds up documents

The Trump White House needs to provide answers. They’re not being let off the hook.

Because a White House press briefing went sideways when a Fox News journalist brought these shocking documents.

Trump Administration Charged To Probe Biden’s Dubious Pardons

The Trump administration is wasting no time digging into the questionable actions of its predecessor, with a sharp focus on the flurry of last-minute pardons issued by former President Joe Biden. On Tuesday, Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy confronted White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, brandishing copies of Biden’s pardons and raising doubts about their legitimacy. Holding up documents with suspiciously uniform signatures, Doocy pointed out that most appeared to be autopen-generated, with one messy signature standing out as potentially authentic.

“Most of the big pardons have the same, very neat signature. We would expect that probably to be the autopen. There is one that looks different, it looks authentic, in fact if you look at the last name it looks like the former president was having a hard time spelling his last name there. Is this White House of the opinion that the only pardon that would count is one that the president signed himself for Hunter Biden?” Doocy asked, pressing Leavitt on the validity of the documents. His question cuts to the core of concerns that Biden’s administration may have relied on automated signatures to push through controversial pardons, potentially sidestepping proper authority.

Leavitt didn’t shy away from the challenge, welcoming the opportunity to examine Doocy’s “props” more closely. “It’s very interesting props, if you want to bring them to my office later so I can take a closer look, I would like to do that,” she said, before pivoting to a broader point. “[President Donald Trump] is making a good point when he discusses the usage of the autopen. Who was running the country for the past four years? Perhaps those documents were signed with the autopen. Something that I believe the Department of Justice is looking into, as you saw, Ed Martin made an announcement this morning to launch an investigation because the American people deserve answers.”

The probe into Biden’s pardons gained traction with the announcement from former interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Ed Martin. On Tuesday, Martin confirmed he would lead an independent review to determine whether “unelected staffers” acted as a “proxy president” in issuing these pardons, according to Reuters.

This investigation aims to expose whether Biden’s administration circumvented proper protocol, allowing unauthorized personnel to wield executive power. The Trump administration’s swift action reflects its commitment to restoring transparency and accountability after what it views as years of obfuscation under Biden.

President Trump himself has been vocal about the issue, taking to Truth Social on March 17 to denounce Biden’s blanket pardons. In his post, Trump claimed Biden “did not sign” the pardons issued in his final days, declaring them “void, vacant and of no further force or effect.” This bold assertion aligns with the administration’s push to challenge the legitimacy of Biden’s actions, particularly those that appear to shield his inner circle from accountability. Trump’s stance resonates with supporters who see the pardons as a desperate attempt to protect allies from scrutiny.

Among the most contentious pardons is the one Biden issued for his son, Hunter, on December 1, 2024. Despite Biden’s repeated assurances that he would not pardon his son, the executive action covered any potential crimes Hunter may have committed between January 1, 2014, and December 1, 2024.

This sweeping pardon shielded Hunter from accountability for his overseas business dealings, a conviction related to an illegal gun purchase, and a tax crime indictment. The Trump administration views this as a glaring example of Biden’s willingness to manipulate executive power for personal gain, fueling their resolve to investigate further.

Biden’s pardons didn’t stop with Hunter. In a brazen move moments before leaving office, he extended clemency to his brothers, James and Frank, and his in-laws. James, linked to Hunter’s controversial overseas business ventures, benefited from this blanket protection. Frank, meanwhile, shamelessly leveraged Biden’s January 2021 inauguration to promote his Florida law firm in connection with a lawsuit against sugar farmers. These pardons raise serious questions about favoritism and abuse of power, issues the Trump administration is eager to expose.

Perhaps most egregious was Biden’s preemptive pardon for members of the January 6 Select Committee, including former Republican Representatives Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger. The broad immunity granted for their roles in investigating the events of January 6, 2021, has been widely criticized as an attempt to shield political allies from future scrutiny. Both Cheney and Kinzinger appear to have accepted the pardons, further inflaming concerns about the politicization of the committee’s work. The Trump administration sees this as a deliberate effort to obstruct justice and is determined to uncover the full extent of the coverup.

Biden Investigations Heat Up

Congressional Republicans are intensifying their probe into the Biden administration’s handling of former President Joe Biden’s health, zeroing in on what aides knew about his physical and mental decline during his term. The recent revelation of Biden’s advanced prostate cancer diagnosis has ignited a firestorm, raising questions about why the condition wasn’t caught earlier and whether it was deliberately hidden from the public. The Democrats’ silence on these matters has left a gaping wound in public trust, as the party appears complicit in shielding the extent of Biden’s frailties while he held the nation’s highest office.

A new book by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios’ Alex Thompson has exposed the extraordinary measures taken by the White House to accommodate an 82-year-old president grappling with noticeable decline. From carefully managed schedules to tightly controlled public appearances, the administration’s efforts to prop up Biden’s image now seem less about support and more about obfuscation. The failure to disclose the severity of his condition, including questions about undetected cancer, has fueled suspicions of a deliberate cover-up, with Democrats offering little to counter the growing narrative of deception.

House Republicans, led by Rep. Buddy Carter of Georgia, are pushing for answers through legislation introduced on Thursday to establish a select committee. This panel would investigate Biden’s health history and scrutinize key figures like former Vice President Kamala Harris, former first lady Jill Biden, and staffers who allegedly suppressed the release of Biden’s interview with special counsel Robert Hurt. The Democrats’ reluctance to address these concerns head-on only deepens the perception that they prioritized political optics over transparency with the American people.

“This is potentially the biggest political scandal of our lifetime, and the American people deserve to know the truth about who was really running the White House under Biden’s tenure as president. From using the autopen to pardon his own family members to likely concealing a cancer diagnosis, our government must restore trust with the public by fully investigating the former administration’s lies and getting to the bottom of one of the most consequential coverups in history,” Carter said in a statement. His words reflect a growing frustration with the Democrats’ evasiveness, as they dodge accountability for what many see as a betrayal of public confidence.

The Senate is also stepping into the fray, with Republicans scheduling a Judiciary Committee hearing on June 18 to explore the alleged conspiracy to conceal Biden’s health issues. The Democrats’ failure to proactively disclose Biden’s prostate cancer diagnosis, only made public last week, has only intensified scrutiny. Biden’s claim that he had no prior knowledge of the diagnosis before May 18 strains credulity, especially given the lack of forthrightness from his inner circle.

The House Oversight Committee, under Rep. James Comer, has reopened its own investigation, demanding interviews with Biden’s physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, and aides Annie Tomasini, Anthony Bernal, and Ashley Williams. “The cover-up of President Biden’s obvious mental decline is a historic scandal,” Comer said. “The American people deserve to know when this decline began, how far it progressed, and who was making critical decisions on his behalf.” The committee’s focus on these aides, accused of “running interference,” highlights a troubling pattern: Democrats seemingly allowed unelected staffers to shield Biden’s condition, raising questions about who was truly steering the country.

O’Connor faces particular criticism for not ensuring regular prostate cancer screenings for Biden, despite the former president’s age placing him outside standard medical recommendations for such tests due to risks of false positives and overtreatment. The Democrats’ apparent acceptance of this lapse without public explanation further erodes trust. The administration’s opacity on Biden’s health, coupled with its reliance on an autopen to sign legislation and executive orders, suggests a disturbing possibility: decisions may have been made without Biden’s full awareness, with staffers potentially acting as proxies in his final days in office.
