“Border Czar” Kamala Harris has done nothing but make everything worse. Thanks to her and Joe, we have a crisis of epic proportions.
But now alarm bells are ringing after a bombshell border report sent Dems running for the hills.
Recent polling data continues to highlight the growing dissatisfaction with the Biden-Harris administration’s disastrous border policies.
Americans are making it clear: they overwhelmingly oppose illegal immigration and are demanding that troops be deployed to secure the southern border.
Two new polls reinforce this trend, highlighting the widespread disapproval of Vice President Kamala Harris’ performance as the so-called “border czar.”
A Napolitan News Service poll reveals that an overwhelming 84% of registered voters believe “illegal immigration is bad for the United States,” with only a paltry 12% claiming it’s good.
The opposition to illegal immigration has remained consistently high for decades, according to the news service, reflecting the enduring concerns of the American public.
While a majority, 71%, support legal immigration as beneficial to the country, those opposed to illegal immigration argue it is harming Americans in profound ways.
“That view has also remained stable for decades. Voters make a clear distinction between legal and illegal immigration,” the news service reports.
The leading reason for this opposition is crime. A staggering 49% of those polled cited crime as their top concern, with 28% emphasizing that illegal immigration opens the door for criminals and terrorists.
Additionally, 26% pointed out the economic and healthcare burdens, while 16% are concerned about dangerous individuals entering the country, and 5% worry about drugs and dealers flooding in.
“Overall, these numbers reflect the fact that voters see America as both a nation of immigrants and a nation of laws,” said RMG Research president Scott Rasmussen. He added that voters understand the desire to come to America but are furious with the federal government for enabling and encouraging illegal immigration.
In a separate poll, an overwhelming 75% said they support sending U.S. troops to “challenge drug cartels and secure the border.” This figure has surged since President Biden took office, including 90% of Republicans and 62% of Democrats.
These findings align with several other polls showing that the American public views the situation at the border as an invasion.
A Rasmussen Reports poll found nearly two-thirds agree with that assessment, while 70% see border security as a critical national security issue, and 72% acknowledge the ongoing crisis.
Texas has been at the forefront of this issue, reframing the debate by introducing the concept of an invasion, with 55 counties declaring it as such and 60 issuing disaster declarations due to the border crisis.
Support for building a border wall, a hallmark policy of former President Donald Trump, remains strong.
A Monmouth University Polling Institute report found that a majority support the construction of a border wall, a project that Biden terminated on his first day in office.
Concerns over illegal immigration have reached new heights under Biden’s administration. The Monmouth report revealed that over 80% of those polled view illegal immigration as a “very serious (61%) or somewhat serious (23%) problem.”
The frustration is particularly palpable in Texas. A University of Texas/Texas Politics Project poll found a majority of Texans, including Hispanics and Blacks, favor building a wall and taking strong border security measures. Additionally, Texas Democrats are increasingly gravitating toward Trump’s policies.
In total, 65% of Texas voters back the state’s efforts to build its own wall and barriers, with 57% supporting the installation of marine buoys in the Rio Grande River and 66% advocating for deploying additional state police and military resources to the border.
A majority of Hispanic Texas voters, 56%, disapprove of Biden’s handling of immigration and border security, the UT/TPP poll revealed.
Another UT/TPP poll found overwhelming support for Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s border security initiatives under Operation Lone Star, including the installation of marine barriers, construction of a border wall, deployment of additional resources, and the busing of illegal immigrants northward.
These findings mirror those from The Center Square Voters’ Voice polls conducted with Noble Predictive Insights. One poll found that 82% of Americans are concerned about border security, with 50% believing the situation has worsened under the Biden-Harris administration.
Another poll from March found that 62% of voters think the U.S. is heading in the wrong direction under Biden and Harris, with illegal immigration nearly tying inflation as the top concern.
The American public is also increasingly in favor of states taking the reins on border security, supporting Texas and other states in their efforts to protect their borders as the federal government fails to do so.
