The mainstream media has never been friends of America’s. But this is beyond the pale.
Now this CNN anchor defended terrorism live on TV and now all hell is breaking loose.
CNN Anchor Defends Pro-Hamas Agitator Facing Deportation
CNN anchor Abby Phillip joined the chorus of Democrats on Monday defending pro-Hamas agitator Mahmoud Khalil, repeatedly questioning whether his actions truly warranted deportation.
Khalil, who was tied to the radical protests at Columbia University, was taken into custody by President Donald Trump’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) over the weekend. The administration has since confirmed that his legal immigration status will be revoked, clearing the way for his deportation.
While Republicans have pointed to U.S. laws allowing the deportation of non-citizens deemed a threat to national security, Democrats have rushed to Khalil’s defense—framing his case as an attack on free speech. Abby Phillip echoed those arguments, casting doubt on whether Khalil posed any legitimate threat.
Republicans Back Trump’s Deportation Plan
Republican commentator Scott Jennings strongly defended the Trump administration’s position. He pointed to a specific U.S. statute that allows deportation if the Secretary of State has “reasonable grounds to believe” a non-citizen’s presence could pose a serious foreign policy concern.
Jennings explained, “He’s a resident alien and he can be deported under U.S. law.” But before he could elaborate on how Khalil fit that definition, Phillip cut him off.
“Have you seen any evidence to suggest that this student is gonna be a threat to national security?” Phillip pressed, interrupting multiple times as Jennings tried to lay out Khalil’s ties to radical organizations.
Jennings pushed back, highlighting Khalil’s affiliation with an extremist group. “His organization says, ‘We are dedicated to fighting for the total eradication of Western civilization.’”
Phillip brushed off the comment with a casual, “Okay,” appearing unmoved by the alarming rhetoric.
Radical Ties Ignored by the Left
Despite Jennings’ attempts to clarify the threat posed by Khalil, Phillip remained fixated on framing his deportation as a punishment for expressing unpopular views.
“You just described him having viewpoints that you disagree with,” she argued, ignoring the extremist ideology connected to Khalil’s group. “Again, is that enough to have someone lose their rights in this country?”
Jennings didn’t back down, pointing out the obvious: “He’s not a citizen—he doesn’t need to be here.”
As Phillip continued to interrupt, Jennings delivered the bottom line. “He is obviously a radical who is here to foment violence against the United States government!”
While the Trump administration prioritizes protecting national security by removing potential threats, CNN and their Democrat allies seem more concerned with defending extremists—no matter the risk to American communities.
