The Biden-Harris administration’s incompetence is on full display. Now the consequences are arriving.
As Kamala Harris and Joe Biden just got hit by a lawsuit from dozens of states out of nowhere.
A coalition of 16 Republican-led states has filed a lawsuit against the Biden-Harris administration, challenging an executive order that could grant amnesty to nearly half a million undocumented immigrants. The states, led by Texas, are seeking to block the order, which they argue unlawfully creates a pathway to citizenship for noncitizen spouses of U.S. citizens.
The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, names Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and other top administration officials as defendants. The coalition contends that the executive order circumvents existing immigration laws, undermining national sovereignty and security.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, a key figure in the lawsuit, criticized the administration’s approach. “Under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, the federal government is actively working to turn the United States into a nation without borders and a country without laws,” Paxton said. He further argued that the policy “violates the Constitution and actively worsens the illegal immigration disaster that is hurting Texas and our country.”

The executive order, announced by President Biden in June during a celebration marking the 12th anniversary of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, provides deportation protection, work permits, and a pathway to legal status for hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants married to U.S. citizens. Applicants must meet specific criteria, including proof of living in the U.S. for at least ten years and being legally married to a U.S. citizen.
The administration is using a mechanism known as “parole-in-place” to remove legal barriers that currently prevent undocumented spouses from obtaining green cards without leaving the country. This move offers a pathway to permanent legal status for those who meet the criteria.
“Biden’s new parole workaround unilaterally grants the opportunity for citizenship to unvetted aliens whose first act on American soil was to break our laws,” Paxton said to criticize the plan. “This violates the Constitution and actively worsens the illegal immigration disaster that is hurting Texas and our country,” Mr. Paxton added.
Opponents of the policy argue that it constitutes an illegal expansion of executive power. Stephen Miller, president of America First Legal and a key advocate for the lawsuit, stated, “This executive amnesty gives over one million illegals legal status, work permits, and a path to voting citizenship. It is brazenly unlawful, a deadly accelerant to the ruinous border invasion, and we will use every lawful tool to stop it.”
“Today, we are proud to represent a coalition of sixteen states in filing a lawsuit to block an unconstitutional Biden-Harris amnesty program,” Mr. Stephen Miller added in an official statement.
The states joining Texas in the lawsuit include Idaho, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, North Dakota, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Wyoming. The plaintiffs are also seeking a temporary restraining order to prevent the implementation of the executive order while the case proceeds.
Illegal Immigration Major Focus For Donald Trump And Allies This Fall
One of the uniting issues for Donald Trump and every Republican and anyone who wants to align with the Trump movement is putting an end to the out-of-control illegal immigration crisis at the U.S. southern border.
In fact, former Democrat Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has said one of the reasons he endorsed Donald Trump over Kamala Harris is because of his fundamentally different stance he’s taken on the immigration issue compared to the Biden-Harris administration.
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris continue to suggest that there’s no issues with the southern border immigration as it is and that illegal immigration is totally under control. This is despite the fact that an estimated 10 million illegal immigrants have entered the United States on their watch.
This will be a major campaign point for Donald Trump to hammer home all the way until election day. He’ll likely want to make this a center focus during his debates with Kamala Harris that are supposed to take place in September.
Surveys suggest that illegal immigration is tied with the economy as the number one issue Americans are worried about and considering ahead of this election in November. Even a near majority of Democrat voters are reporting that they believe illegal immigration is a “major issue” for them.
