The insecure southern border crisis is worse than ever. The White House is pouring fuel on the fire.
Because an uncovered CBP memo has shown the awful truth about Joe Biden’s open border policies.
An individual was detained by Border Patrol agents on Tuesday for illegally crossing the southern border. The individual confessed to having ties to a Colombian group that had previously been regulated as a terrorist organization, based on an internal memo first picked up by the Daily Caller News Foundation from Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
In the El Paso area of Texas, agents met Oscar De Leon-Ramirez on February 6th with eight other nationalities, including Colombians and Salvadorans. The National Targeting Center informed agents of the subject’s potential history of “terrorist activities,” as stated in the report. The illegal immigrant confessed to his past involvement with the Autodefensas Unidas de Colombia (AUC), a group that the United States government had previously labeled a terrorist organization.
During the interview that followed Miranda, De Leon-Ramirez made no secret of the fact that he had unlawfully crossed the international boundary between the United States and Mexico earlier this month. In addition, the document said that De Leon-Ramirez freely joined in the Autodefensas Unidas de Colombia (AUC) in either 2004 or 2005.
“De Leon-Ramirez stated that some of his duties as AUC member were to patrol the mountainous rural areas of Istmina, Colombia locating guerrilla members of the FARC (Fuerza Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia) and other entities involved with extortion and trafficking in Colombia,” the document explained.
The Texas Western District Court is now hearing a case involving De Leon-Ramirez, as stated in the letter.
From 2001 to 2014, the United States government withdrew the AUC’s status as a foreign terrorist organization. The Congressional Research Service reports that after the group’s 2006 dissolution, some members continued to be involved in drug trade and human rights violations through other groups.
The Congressional Research Service also reports that the group “massacred and assassinated suspected supporters” of politically leftist guerrilla groups in Colombia throughout its existence.
“The border is open. Wide open. Don’t believe the media. Don’t believe the White House,” an anonymous Department of Homeland Security agent shared with journalists.
“Arm yourself, protect your homes and your families because this joke of an administration isn’t doing anything,” the government spokesperson noted.
Between October and December, 50 individuals on the terror watchlist were captured by Border Patrol agents. This brings the total number of illegal immigrants seized by CBP to 172 in fiscal year 2023 and 98 in fiscal year 2022. Thirty such meetings occurred between FY 2017 and FY 2021.
An internal federal memo states that on March 13, 2023, a member of the Somali terror group al-Shabaab was apprehended by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers on Jan. 20. The official was released shortly after his illegal entry near San Ysidro, California, close to the southern border.
The latest surveys have demonstrated that the border crisis is once again one of the top three issues in the opinion of the average American around the nation.
It’s not just civilians in southern states who are concerned about Joe Biden’s border policies and national security failures.
Drug proliferation has made a serious impact on communities all throughout the nation even if the southern states face the brunt of it.
Fentanyl deaths are skyrocketing all over the country and experts are pointing to the worsening border crisis and how drug cartels are more emboldened than ever.
While the border crisis has been an issue brewing for years and years, Americans more than ever believe the Biden administration is largely to blame for how bad it’s become at this point.
Poll: Nearly half of U.S. voters think Biden to blame for southern border 'migration crisis'
The voter survey was taken as more migrants come to the U.S.-Mexico border than in the past 20 years.
