The Republican Party is filled with bad actors. And most in Washington, D.C. don’t seem to mind.
But now RINOs are red with rage after Donald Trump exposed their latest backhanded scheme.
Former President Donald Trump attacked the Senate’s bipartisan border agreement on Monday, labeling it a “trap” designed by Democrats for Republicans.
Senators unveiled the final version of a long-awaited border bill on Sunday afternoon. The bill will most certainly be voted on by the full Senate soon, but its fate is uncertain, especially as Republican support dwindles.
“Only a fool, or a Radical Left Democrat, would vote for this horrendous Border Bill, which only gives Shutdown Authority after 5000 Encounters a day, when we already have the right to CLOSE THE BORDER NOW, which must be done,” Trump posted on Truth Social on Monday morning.
“This Bill is a great gift to the Democrats, and a Death Wish for The Republican Party,” Trump continued.
“It takes the HORRIBLE JOB the Democrats have done on Immigration and the Border, absolves them, and puts it all squarely on the shoulders of Republicans. Don’t be STUPID!!!”
The former president said Republicans need a separate border bill that is not “tied to foreign aid in any way, shape, or form,” saying Democrats “broke Immigration and the Border. They should fix it.”
Trump posted again later Monday morning, saying the “ridiculous” border bill is “nothing more than a highly sophisticated trap for Republicans to assume the blame on what the Radical Left Democrats have done to our Border, just in time for our most important EVER Election. Don’t fall for it!!!”
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) stated that the bill will receive its first procedural vote on the floor on Wednesday.
However, some Republicans have already stated that they will not support it.
The $118 billion agreement would tighten asylum standards, close the southern border if immigration contacts reached specific thresholds, and give billions of dollars to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan.
The package faces an uphill struggle in the Senate, with numerous conservative senators already questioning whether they will support it.
“This is an open-borders bill if I’ve ever seen one. The Democrats are celebrating already,” Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) said on X.
Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) stated that she will “never vote to make illegal immigration legal, and I will not support this deal.”
The plan is unlikely to pass in the lower chamber, according to the House’s two senior Republicans.
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) declared the bill “dead on arrival” in the House, calling it “even worse than we expected.”
House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) also attacked the plan, promising that it will not be voted on and describing it as “a magnet for more illegal immigration.”
