Sudden announcement from Border Patrol has huge ramifications for America’s safety

Our country is vulnerable. That’s getting fixed, but it takes time.

And now a sudden announcement from Border Patrol has huge ramifications for America’s safety.

Border Patrol Stands Firm in Los Angeles to Restore Order

National Border Patrol Council President Paul Perez affirmed the steadfast commitment of Border Patrol agents deployed to Los Angeles to curb the anti-ICE riots, emphasizing their resolve to stay until stability is restored. “We are not going to leave until the job is done,” Perez told the New York Post this week.

“And that means making sure that Los Angeles is safe and secure and not chaotic and lawless like it’s been in the past.” Agents, including elite Border Patrol Tactical Unit (BORTAC) members from Arizona, have been dispatched to support federal partners and quell the violence sparked by rioters, with Perez noting their readiness with tools like “pepperball launchers” and “chemical munitions” to deter agitators.

Dedicated Border Patrol agents, including specialized BORTAC units, have been deployed from Arizona to Los Angeles to assist ICE and other federal partners in restoring order amid anti-ICE riots.

Equipped with riot control tools such as pepperball launchers and chemical munitions, agents are trained to handle chaotic situations and are committed to ensuring the city’s safety until lawlessness is eradicated.

Response to Violent Protests

Following ICE raids targeting illegal immigrant work hubs, such as Home Depot parking lots, rioters assaulted federal agents, including Customs and Border Protection personnel, with rocks and bricks.

Some demonstrators attempted to obstruct arrests, while looters targeted local businesses.

President Trump responded by deploying 2,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines, with Border Patrol agents playing a critical support role to federal efforts in the City of Angels.

High Morale and Border Security Progress

Despite their Los Angeles mission, Border Patrol remains focused on securing the U.S.-Mexico border, where illegal crossings have reached record lows.

National Border Patrol Council President Paul Perez expressed confidence in achieving “operational control” of the southern border, crediting President Trump’s leadership for boosting agent morale to historic highs.

“Under President Trump’s term, we’ll definitely hit that,” Perez stated, contrasting the current optimism with the challenges faced under the previous administration.

Even as agents tackle the unrest in Los Angeles, their mission along the U.S.-Mexico border continues unabated, with illegal crossings at historic lows.

Perez highlighted the progress toward “operational control” of the border, a goal agents are poised to achieve under President Trump’s leadership.

“I believe we’re getting there really, really quick,” he said, noting that morale among agents is at an all-time high. “What happened to us under the Biden administration was the lowest of the low. And when President Trump came into office, this is the highest it’s ever been as far as morale, so we’re really enjoying working for President Trump.”
