Joe Biden’s border created a national security crisis. The Trump team is making it priority number one.
That’s why the Trump admin has given a groundbreaking border wall news update.
Kristi Noem Greenlights New Border Wall Construction
The Trump administration is charging full speed ahead to secure America’s southern border, delivering on one of President Donald Trump’s core campaign promises. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem is leading the charge, green-lighting a new waiver for border wall construction to plug critical gaps in Arizona, California, and Texas. This decisive action comes as illegal border crossings have plummeted, showcasing the administration’s relentless focus on restoring order and sovereignty.
On Wednesday, Noem approved her fifth environmental waiver since taking the helm at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This latest move targets 17 miles of border wall in Texas’s Rio Grande Valley sector, a hotspot for past illegal crossings. The waiver cuts through bureaucratic red tape, allowing construction to move forward swiftly and efficiently, a hallmark of the administration’s no-nonsense approach.
The United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is backing this effort with serious muscle. According to Fox News, CBP awarded Fisher Sand & Gravel Co. a hefty $300 million contract to erect 27 miles of wall near Tucson, Arizona. This project is part of a the huge push to fortify the border, ensuring that vulnerable stretches are sealed off from illegal entry.
Noem’s track record speaks for itself. In April, she signed a waiver to fast-track wall construction north of the California-Mexico border. She’s also given the green light for projects in New Mexico, steadily building a formidable barrier that sends a clear message: America’s borders are not open for business. These waivers are a direct fulfillment of Trump’s vow to resume and expand the border wall, a promise that resonated with millions of Americans.
The timing couldn’t be more critical. CBP’s latest data reveals a stunning achievement: zero illegal migrants were released into the U.S. interior in May. This marks a jaw-dropping drop from May 2024, when 62,000 illegal migrants were released under the Biden administration’s watch. The contrast is stark, and it highlights the Trump administration’s ability to deliver results where others failed.
THIS SHOULD BE FRONT PAGE NEWS EVERYWHERE

“Thanks to the tireless efforts and diligent work of the men and women of CBP and the leadership of [Trump] and [Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem], USBP released 0 (not a single one) illegal aliens into our country in May, down from more than 62,000 in May of last year,” CBP announced on social media Tuesday. The agency didn’t hold back, calling this “the fastest improvement in American border security of all time.”
The Senate’s confirmation of Rodney Scott as CBP commissioner on Wednesday further cements the administration’s commitment to border security. In a 51-46 party-line vote, Scott, a seasoned Border Patrol veteran, was tapped to lead CBP. Having served as chief of U.S. Border Patrol during Trump’s first term, Scott brings unmatched experience and a proven track record to the role.
“I’m honored that the United States Senate has confirmed me, and I want to thank President Trump and Secretary [Kristi] Noem for their trust and unwavering leadership,” Scott said in a statement. “I started my career on the frontlines, and now I am ready to lead my CBP family with integrity and a clear mission to defend our sovereignty, enforce the law, and put America first.”
House Homeland Security Chairman Mark Green hailed Scott’s confirmation, calling him the “right man” for the job. “As the Trump administration works to undo the damage caused by the Biden-Harris administration’s radical open-borders, anti-enforcement policies, we will need experienced, principled, and dedicated men and women leading the charge,” Green said. He emphasized Scott’s decades of service, noting his deep understanding of CBP’s mission and the challenges faced by its agents.
Scott’s appointment is a strategic win for an administration laser-focused on cracking down on illegal immigration. President Trump nominated Scott in December, signaling his intent to put battle-tested leaders in key positions. Scott’s removal by the Biden administration in 2021 only demonstrates his loyalty to Trump’s vision, making his return a powerful statement of intent.
The border wall projects and Scott’s leadership are part of a larger strategy that includes mass deportations of individuals who have committed serious crimes while in the U.S. illegally. This tough-on-crime approach is resonating with Americans fed up with years of lax enforcement and unchecked migration.
CBP’s social media post doubled down on the administration’s success, stating, “This administration has seen the fastest improvement in American border security of all time.” The numbers back it up: zero releases in May compared to 62,000 the previous year. This isn’t just a statistic—it’s a testament to the Trump administration’s ability to deliver on its promises.
Noem’s waivers and Scott’s confirmation are moving the needle in ways the Biden administration never could. By prioritizing border security, the Trump administration is restoring confidence in a system that was stretched to the breaking point. The wall is going up, illegal crossings are down, and America’s sovereignty is being fiercely defended.
