Trump set up a fortress at the southern border that is dropping jaws

The president is wasting no time on getting things done. And Democrats should be worried.

Because Trump set up a fortress at the southern border that is dropping jaws.

In just three days, President Trump has made bold moves to significantly bolster border security, unveiling plans to deploy up to 10,000 U.S. troops while ordering the immediate detention and deportation of any illegal border crossers.

These sweeping actions aim to empower law enforcement agencies to block illegal migration and expedite the removal of those already in the country unlawfully.

On Tuesday, targeted arrests of illegal immigrants with criminal records kicked off in sanctuary cities across the nation.

Meanwhile, the Department of Justice vowed to crack down on sanctuary jurisdictions that obstruct immigration enforcement efforts.

This decisive pivot represents a stark departure from the Biden administration’s open-border policies, which saw nearly 8 million illegal migrants flood into the U.S. in just four years.

On Wednesday, U.S. officials announced the Pentagon would deploy up to 1,500 active-duty troops to the southern border, joining the 2,200 National Guard and Reserve forces already stationed there.

Trump is reportedly weighing a plan to send as many as 10,000 troops to the border, following his directive to the Department of Defense to “seal the borders” and curb “unlawful mass migration,” according to The Washington Post.

In a show of no-nonsense leadership, Trump also dismissed the U.S. Coast Guard’s first female leader, citing an “erosion of trust” in the service.

He then ordered the Coast Guard to ramp up its resources in high-risk maritime areas, including waters near Cuba and Haiti, as well as regions around Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories like Guam and Puerto Rico.

Patrols will also intensify along maritime borders with Mexico and the Bahamas, signaling a clear message that illegal migration via sea routes will not be tolerated.

Additionally, Trump has instructed Customs and Border Protection to end the controversial “catch-and-release” policy, which allowed illegal immigrants to enter the country with a court date and no accountability.

Instead, migrants will be detained until deportation proceedings are completed.

The Washington Post also revealed that Trump is preparing to bar asylum seekers from entering the U.S., citing risks of “communicable diseases” in transit countries as a legal justification for the policy shift.

The president has further dismantled restrictions on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), allowing agents to conduct raids in previously off-limits areas like courthouses and churches — places that had served as de facto safe zones for illegal migrants under Biden’s tenure.

The mere announcement of these stepped-up enforcement measures has sent shockwaves through illegal immigrant communities.

In Chicago, a bustling shopping district often referred to as the “Mexico of the Midwest,” foot traffic has plummeted by 50%.

Once lively streets are now eerily quiet, with shuttered businesses lining the two-mile stretch of shops and restaurants.

Residents point to mounting fears of the impending crackdown, as many brace for the possibility of arrests and deportations under Trump’s revitalized enforcement strategy.
